So as far as sanitation goes:

Blades, scissors, etc get a Barbicide bath or 70% isopropyl alcohol between uses. I also use andis disinfectant a l**e spray for my clipper blades.

Hot soapy water and 70% isopropyl alcohol in certain places to quick sanitize.

10% bleach solution gets used and rinsed time to time on non porous surfaces.

Aqueous ready to use canine disinfectants, get used to clean the salon as well.

I do MAJOR sanitization over the weekend with a bleach solution, and to aerate the salon before the next week.

Is use Clean & Clear, and bleach to wash towels. They get double washed again with a hot water cycle.

When spring and summer rolls around I find time to do shop flea treatments with 48 hrs to aerate. Is that a total preventative? Mostly, but not 100%. Making sure your dogs are up to date on flea treatments and prevention is so important.

I do everything I’ve been taught in apprenticeship and learned to prevent cross contamination for bacterial and fungal infection purposes. 🫶🏻

I do not do a**l glands, or deal with anything with internals of a dog because I am not a veterinarian or vet tech. 😊

I have tried so many shampoos over the years and mine has gone up nearly $20 in the past year. $90 a gallon at this point. I will still buy it because I know it’s the best. I’m sure most of y’all can attest to that. It’s super long lasting as far as fragrance. It’s natural. It makes black coats super shiny, and white coats super white, and smells delightful. I’ve had so many clients tell me their dog’s hair has never been in better shape, and is growing back lovely. The hypo allergenic one is the best too. I know most of the top of the line groomers are using igroom and Nature’s Specialties, but I could never switch up on Natures Specialties 😮‍💨😅

Trust me when I say, I DO NOT cheap out on your pets 🫶🏻
I’ve tried brands that are slightly cheaper, and they are trash.

Let’s be real here, we were all tired of that typical baby powder smell. It’s awful. 😅

Also, if your groomer is charging you extra for a “facial”, that’s highway robbery. It’s a tear free gentle face wash and exfoliating. Which I include in a full groom. It takes a dot of product to scrub their face (and honestly the whole body should be washed as well as the face in a full bath anyway). Nonsense. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This story and video breaks my heart and makes me enraged simultaneously . I’ll keep it professional on here..

I want all my beloved clients to know, your babies are in good hands with me. A big part of why I do one on one grooming, is because it’s less stressful for your dog and me. A lot of dogs don’t love grooming. A lot do. A lot more dogs than I’d like to acknowledge have been traumatized by a traumatic nail clipping, and bad groomers. Just like any other career path, some people have no business being in it. A lot of the higher volume salons put time and profit over your dogs’ well being.

This was an absolute lack of care and respect…disgusting.

My trusted clients know, if anything at all… I will call them and tell them, if things derail somewhere along the lines for whatever reason under the sun… to come pickup and we can try again 🫶🏻

Or maybe I’m not the right fit. It happens! I’m mature 🤷🏻‍♀️

A lot of times I’ll suggest professional training if something needs addressed beyond my boundaries and expertise.

I take a loss with one on one grooming, purposely. I charge very reasonably, and 90% of the time I alot extra time to make sure pressure is decreased on myself, and your fuzzy baby. And I’m blessed to have a home salon to do that. 🫶🏻
