Ghosted you for two months, but only because we were busy chasing year end goals!

Recapping from STL Pre/Charity, Brownland Autumn Challenge, AND NHS Finals!!

🇩🇰🎵Vemmetofte I’m Noble & Chello Blue PS Z stepped up into the Green Htrs and had great ribbons! Harper Malott piloted both babies at STL Charity with winning rounds!

💯Perfecto - Champion at STL Charity in the Mod. Child Htrs and won multiple o/f rounds at Brownland with Harper Malott.

🎩Always a Gentleman - Champion in the USHAJ 2’ and just shy a point in the Long Stirrup for a tricolor piloted by Lauren McKay.

🙈Cheeky Monkey 2 - Cate Williamson claimed 3rd in NHS Area Champiomship with only one round under their partnership. She rode to top finishes in her first BIG EQ Debut at Brownland and compete at NHS Finals 2025.

🍼Quintessential- piloted by Harper Malott also a new partnership, has climbed the ranks in the EQ. This duo soared at Brownland winning the NHS and placing 2nd in the EMO Jumping Seat.

🌇Memphis - piloted my Kendahl Valesety Reserve Champion in the Large 3’3 Jrs Pre Charity and also participated in NHS Area Championship. This duo also had their big EQ debut placing 2nd in their first Maclay. They also competed at NHS Finals 2025.

💙Casillias - taking 5th place in the National Derby piloted by Sydney Hott at the STL Charity horse show. Cate Williamson stole the show at Brownland missing Champion by half a point in the Large 3’3 Jrs - Qualifying them for JHF 2026! Not to mention was the second highest placing non-pro in the Brownland National Derby.

🤴🏼Kingston - Stepped up to play at Brownland and won multiple over fences rounds even was reserve call for Baby Greens!

⛄️High Essential - ridden by Chaylee Wisecup was Reserve Champion in the Low Child hunters and had great ribbons in the USHJA 3’ with Sydney Hott.

Earlier this week we celebrated Cate Williamson’s verbal commitment to ride for the UT Martin Equestrian Team 🧡💙….ROLL HAWKS!

Later in the week, she and Cool Cash competed at Junior Hunter Finals, in the 3’3” Older Section and finishing in the top 30 out of 98 in the classic! 🌟👏

The muffins were cooking in the oven this past week… at Germantown Charity Horse Show, one of our favorite horse shows of the year, with great rounds, great results, and great memories. We want take a moment to congratulate all of our riders…

🇩🇰 Vemmetofte I’m Noble - ridden/owned by Sydney Hott was a star all week in the 3’0 Green Htrs.

💰 Cool Cash - ridden by Cate Williamson owned by Lauren Crawford jumped in top form to end up top 5 in THIS and NHS Medal. During the evening, piloted by Sydney Hott, captured the highest scoring hunter round in the Versatility Challenge ending up 3rd. Then to end the week off taking 4th place honors in the GCHS Hunter Classic.

🌩️ Storm Warning - ridden by Dani Kovalic jumped her heart out in both the 1.0m & 1.10m jumpers and also had top results in the Reg. Large Pony Htrs.

🎩 Always a Gentleman - ridden by Lauren MacKay owned by Megan Dohr, being the unicorn he won the Long Stirrup EQ o/f and having top results in the Long Stirrup division as well as taking reserve champion honors with Sydney Hott in the UHSJA 2’0.

🍯 100 Acre Woods - ridden by Chaylee Wisecup won the Large Reg. Pony Conf. Class and took 8th place in the GCHS Pony classic.

Casillias - owned/ridden by Cate Williamson started with the bang winning the 1st round of the Large Jr Htrs and placing 12th in the Jr/Ao Classic

⛄️ Highly Essential - Ridden/Owned by Sydney Hott took his first show in the US by storm, taking Reserve Champion in the Baby Green Htrs winning his first class. Megan Dohr got the honors to pilot our baby muffin in the USJA 2’0.

👑 Overtime - Owned/Ridden by Chaylee Wisecup starting the week off strong for NHF placing 2nd in the first class of the .85m and ending the week with a 10th place in the .90m Jumper Classic.

♟️ Kings Gambit - Owned/Ridden by Cate Williamson checkmated his way with Sydney Hott to Champion in the TB 3’0 Htrs and had great rounds in the Older Children’s with Cate Williamson.

🏅Quintessential - Ridden/Owned by Megan Dohr leaving it out through the .85m Jumpers ending the week with a 9th place in the .90m Jumper Classic. Jumper by day Hunter by night, took 10th place in the Versatility Challenge and 3rd in the GCHS Hunter Classic with Sydney Hott.

As we finally thaw out from the cold weather we have had, let’s recap the Jan. Prime Time Horse Show!

It was our baby horse group that came to play with the oldest being 8!

🇩🇰Vemmetofte I’m Noble, new ride of Sydney Hott, put his big boy pants on and laid down some amazing trips in the Baby Greens and 5&Under Young Hunters. So thrilled with how this newly turned 5yo is.

💅Diamanti HVH, owned and show by Cate Williamson ended up 2nd in the MOHJO Derby, and beautiful trips in the Modified Hunters. Sydney Hott and “Diva” won the first class of the show in the Green Hunters and ended 10th in the National Derby.

♟️Kings Gambit, owned and shown by Cate Williamson stepped up to the older children’s hunters division and laid down solid rounds all weekend.

🍼Quintessential, owned by Megan Dohr, Cate Williamson surprised everyone by stepping into the 3’3 ring on this catch ride. Placing 3rd in the Older Large 3’3 Junior Handy and Champion in the MOHJO EQ. Sydney Hott piloted Quintessential to a 8th place finish in the National Derby.

A small stab in the heart is what you feel when you put up the day's riding list and you see riders sinking heavily in their shoulders when reading which horse they are assigned for the lesson. A small stab in the heart for that horse that for an hour will carry around a rider who has already decided that he does not like his horse. A small stab in the heart for the horse that did not choose the rider himself but still does his best, lesson after lesson.

Riding is a privilege and something you have chosen to do. If you chose to ride at a riding school, your instructor assumes that you actually want to learn how to ride. The instructor's highest wish is that you get good at it.

Often there is a plan and a thought as to why you are assigned to that exact horse. Before you mount up next time, ask yourself "what can this horse teach me today?" All horses have something to give, a feeling or a new tool in the box.

The art is actually in being able to get a lazy horse to move forward, to get an uncertain horse to gain confidence, a naughty horse to focus or a tense horse to be released. It takes work. If you think a horse is boring, it's more likely that you don't ride the horse as well as you think! It's not easy to be confronted with your own shortcomings, but it is in that very situation that you get the chance to truly grow as a rider.

The excuse that "it's not my kind of horse" is actually a really bad excuse. A good rider can ride any kind of horse. A good rider has trained many hours on different types of horses to become a good rider. A good rider can find and manage the gold nuggets in every horse.

If we absolutely want to ride, it is our duty to strive to do it as best as possible, even if it's only for fun. We owe it to every horse that carries us upon it's back.
