Working on the turns. Next track will be in an extremely high deer area. Distractions are part of tracking and it’s good to keep challenging them. He loves working too!!

Haven’t had a track since December and had two calls last night. Also had a girls basketball games to coach in the am. Recommend one be checked on in person and if the struggled we would come in. Other was a suspected shoulder shot and we did what we could there. Very likely the deer will be fine as it was unsure on the actual pe*******on with the broken arrow. We had a great season this year and had an awesome streak of recovery’s. Certainly appreciate the calls and will always help when we have time!!

Starting back to last Thursday night, we had one track lined up for Jared as he hit a nice buck that morning that was back and later kicked up. We decided to wait 12 hours on this one thinking lung/liver. We have done numerous tracks and you can expect still a small percentage to still be alive, sometimes just barely. Before this track we squeezed in a forward unknown shot with no arrow. We started this working the line and quickly found the arrow and lighted knock. Shortly after we found Toms deer. Congratulations Tom!! Pines make the most difficult blood trail and this deer would likely been recovered. We were glad to help!
Then onto Jared’s track. This deer made a loop around after being jumped and backtracked. Some of the track was muddied up from the search (inadvertently) as he cut off the initial track straight to the edge of the creek. This is where we found the deer bedded and still alive. After backing out, we worked with a very good friend of ours who was able to help get permission on the private that the deer was on. The hunter was by no means hunting the line, if he was I would have been less likely to vouge for him as this landowner typically doesn’t let people on as he has had so many issues with public hunters. He was out west and didnt have much service. I was in the stand that next evening when we found we finally had permission. I immediately got down out of my stand to head there as I already had a track lined up later and some family commitments. It took all of 2 minutes to find his deer. Unfortunately it was not edible, but the deer was tagged and dragged out. Many more stories coming this week as we had an absolute blast helping everyone this year!!
