If anyone know me you guys should know I am a terrible photographer of any of our rabbits but especially the good ones, I can make a nationals winner look like one that belongs in the stew pot but I try 😂, but anyways I finally got some time between the hay fields to dig through the barn a little. I found several CUTE juniors who will hopefully make it on the fall show string and hopefully convention in November!
So far in the mini Rex I’m liking the otters the best and it’s been a long while since we’ve had a nice otter on the table
In the Rex there’s a standout pair of littermate sisters who should do some great things this fall

We ignore all coats as it’s August in Oklahoma. Even though they are kept in AC that means nothing with all this humidity

Hope everyone is staying cool in all this heat! Can’t wait to see everyone in just a couple months!

We had a great time at the first ever Bruin Bunny Bash in Bartlesville OK last weekend! There were good numbers and many of the kids learned a lot. The facility was great and we hope to be back next year! We took a lot of young ones just pushing senior and still had a good day.

Well good news and bad news about the lutino project. I’ve now learned we have 3 carriers in the barn.

We rebred Minnesota to Greenland and just got 2 solid blacks
We bred Balloon to Greenland and she did end up having 2 dove lutinos BUT she for some reason had trouble and we lost both the babies 😓. Hopefully she’s good now and we can try again.
We’ve got a couple daughters and granddaughters of Greenland growing out so hopefully we can expand on the project!

Alright so interesting color many of you may have not seen. This is Pigeon he is a 11 week old dove lutino mini Rex. He is a 5th generation crop out of a father to daughter breeding. So 5 generations ago he cane from a Berlena’s doe. This is a color that is similar to REW but instead of taking all pigment out of the hair it only takes out the black pigment so this can come in agouti, otter, self, broken, and other varieties.
I’m working on adding more of these to my barn and working on the variety. My question is does anyone else have any of these? I know they’re quite rare in mini Rex but I’m wanting to connect with someone else who might have them!

Pigeon has had his first outing! He’s 10 weeks old now and is quite the cutie. He’s definitely different and we’ve loved learning more about where the color come from and showing him off! The lighting in this building isn’t the greatest so I’ll have to get some better pictures at home.

When finals get you stressed you bring a bun with you to college! This is A-Z’s George but more commonly known as Pooh, Georgie Pooh or Pooh baby. He’s the sweetest bun and is an amazing stress reliever. He was one of the first actual show rabbits that we bred and he come out of our original trio of show rabbits. He’s the son of Scotcha’s Plooshie and ZBAR’s Oliver. Highest he ever placed was 3/8 as a junior buck but he is in the pedigree of some of our best rabbits.
He’s the sire to A-Z’s Greenland who has produced A-Z’s Minnesota and A-Z’s Balloon. (Fun fact his sire is the one who carried the dove lutino gene).

BABY POST!!!
Hopefully we’ll have some show babies now as we figured out Big V feed was causing fatty livers and growing the mini rex too large.

We had a strange color pop out from our OG lines 5 generations ago. We bred father to daughter A-Z’s Greenland and A-Z’s Minnesota and got a dove lutino!! He’ll be a creamy color with red eyes. Not something we ever expected but we’re just gonna see how he grows.

We’ve had 11 litters in two weeks which is our most at one time to date
