I was just a pup when we first met, I loved you from the start.
You picked me up and took me home, and placed me in your heart.
Good times we had together, we shared all life could throw.
But years passed all too quickly, my time has come to go.
I know how much you miss me, I know your heart is sore.
I see the tears that fall, when I'm not waiting at the door.
You always did your best for me, Your love was plain to see.
For even though it broke your heart, You set my spirit free.
So please be brave without me, one day we'll meet once more.
For when you're called to heaven, I'll be waiting at the door.

It has taken me all day to be able to compose myself long enough to post this. For anyone who has had the opportunity to have that one best friend In your life you know what we are going through right now. Lexi wasn't just a dog. She was so much more. She was my first baby. She was my best friend. She was there when no one else was. She loved my children as her own. She protected and played and loved and did not judge. Well maybe only a little judgement when she didn't get the treat at the exact time she thought she needed it. But most of all she was what completed my heart. She touched so many lives. More than she or I will ever know. She was an exceptional hunter, mother, friend and sister. There will be no way to fill the hole in our hearts but I know she is there waiting for us all. Tail wagging and praying we don't cry for her for too long. Until we see you again Lexi I hope you know how truly loved and missed you are. 🩷🩷🩷
