🐾☀️ Should your pet wear foot protection in the summer?

Sometimes… absolutely!

Many summer surfaces can become dangerously hot before we even realize it. A pet’s paw pads are tough, but they can still burn quickly on heated surfaces.

Be extra cautious around:
🔥 Asphalt parking lots
🔥 Concrete sidewalks
🔥 Metal trailer floors
🔥 The back of pickup trucks
🔥 Boat docks and ramps
🔥 Sand and gravel
🔥 Artificial turf

A good rule of thumb: if it’s too hot for your bare hand, it’s too hot for their paws. 🐶🐱

Some pets benefit from protective boots or limiting outdoor walks to cooler morning and evening hours. Always provide shade, fresh water, and cool places to rest during the summer heat.

Summer adventures are fun — but awareness of hot surfaces can help prevent painful burns and injuries to your furry family members. ❤️
