Reminder: No trims today! The baby Green Cheek Conures are also not in the store since John & Angela are not here today.

Don't forget to start taking pictures for the Calendar Contest if you don't already have one you would like to use!!
Everyone who submits and provides needed information is included! The winner gets a $25 gift certificate and is featured on the front cover.

If you would like to participate, here’s what you need to do!
Submit via:
• Physical copy in store
• E-mail your photos to [email protected]. Please title the e-mail “Calendar Contest Photos
• Thumb drive & we will download the pictures.
• Facebook message Birds of Paradise

Provide the following information:
• Your full name as you want it shown
• Your phone number so we can contact you when the calendars are finished and ready for distribution
• The bird's name
• Species of bird
• Whoever also may be in the picture’s name
• If you will want your discounted copy or not (if you know you will want to purchase additional copies, please let us know that as well)
IF YOU DO NOT PROVIDE ALL NEEDED INFORMATION, YOU ARE NOT ENTERED!!!

Rules: (see full rules in Rules and Information post!)
• Limit of 1-2 pictures per bird, limit of 10 pictures per household. (1 per bird is preferred)
• Please no photoshopped pictures.
• Deadline is October 31st. Please submit pictures in a timely fashion.

Other Tips:
• Be original!! Be creative!! Have a theme!!
• Use pictures that are as high quality and clear as you can.

Reminder: No trims tomorrow! Resuming normal schedule next week.

Please keep an eye on our lost & Found album, we have had several additions to the album over the past few weeks. If you lose a bird reach out to us ASAP!! We highly recommend trimming wings to keep your bird safe from indoor hazards and to prevent them from flying away on accident. If you have any questions or concerns about trimming please ask.

Calendar Contest Rules and Information - Deadline is October 31st
Please Read the Entire Post before entering!!

We are asking our customers to get involved and participate in our 2026 calendar contest!! For every month of the year, there is a collage of pictures taken by our customers. After the contest is closed, a group of people (volunteers, random customers) vote on their favorite and the photo with the most votes wins a $25 gift certificate and the picture will be featured on the front cover! Each household who enters can purchase 1 copy at a discounted price. Additional copies will be available for sale. They make wonderful holiday gifts for any bird lover!

If you would like to participate, here’s what you need to do!

• We prefer 1-2 pictures per bird, possible limit of 10 pictures per household. If you send more, we may ask which are your favorites or we can choose the best ones.
• No pictures entered in previous years. If you send in pictures that were sent in before, we will not use them, and you will not be included in the contest!
• We also ask that no one send in pictures of other people’s birds without their permission. The people participating should be the current owners of the birds!
• Please no photoshopped pictures.
• Anyone with pictures in the calendar gets ONE copy for a discounted price. ONE discounted copy per household.
• If you do not give all the needed information for entry, you are not entered.
• Deadline is October 31st. Please submit pictures in a timely fashion. Pictures submitted after the deadline will not be included. Calendars are usually distributed about Thanksgiving.
• Be creative and have fun!

• Use as high-quality picture as possible, if blurry or low quality we may ask for another picture option.

Happy 4th of July! We are closed today for the holiday.

Don't forget to clean up the firework mess when you are done or in the morning!!

Many birds get through the festivities without a ruffled feather. Some do not. Here are some tips if your feathered friend is frightened. Aside from what is listed below you can leave a light on or make sure curtains are shut.

Thank you to everyone who came out to Botanica today! It was hot but we had a lot of fun and the birds brought joy to many new people!
Don't worry, we didn't quite sell out of the new goodies 😉. They will be available in store starting Tuesday.

A HUGE thank you to all of the volunteers, employees, and Botanica staff that helped. It wouldn't have been a success without you.
Thank you to the staff holding down the fort at the store and everyone's patience and understanding since they were short staffed.

We can't wait to do something like that again (in cooler weather).
