⚠️ Did you know? Many common household medications can be toxic to pets—and ibuprofen is at the top of the list.

Even small amounts can lead to stomach ulcers or kidney failure in dogs and cats. Keep your pets safe with these tips:

✅ Keep all medications both for humans and pets away from your animals.

✅ Never leave pills OR pill bottles sitting on the counter or in a place that a pet can reach them.

✅ If you accidentally drop a pill when taking it out of the bottle, quickly pick it up so you know your pet won't find and eat it.

✅ Never give a medication to your pet without consulting a veterinarian first.

If you suspect your pet has consumed a human medication or a medication meant for another pet in your household, immediately contact us at 316-262-5321. You can also connect with the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center at (888) 426-4435.

Did you know it takes just 6 minutes for a dog to overheat in a hot car? 🐶☀️🥵
Even with the windows cracked or parked in the shade, temperatures can rise dangerously fast—leading to serious, even fatal, consequences.

🚗🔥 The safest choice? Never leave your pet in the car.
Take them with you or leave them at home where it’s cool, with plenty of water and shade. They’ll be excited to greet you when you return! 🐾💛

Milk Moustache, Maximum Cuteness 🍼

Milk time is serious business around here. Chicken McNubbins doesn’t just drink her bottle—she owns it.

Check out that milk moustache! This little lady fuels up like a champ, one squeaky slurp at a time.

Be on the lookout for more updates on Nubby's journey!

First Steps Forward 🐾

Chicken McNubbins has faced more than her fair share of challenges. We were able to save her right front leg, but her left front paw had to be amputated due to irreversible damage. On top of that, she lives with cerebellar hypoplasia, which affects her balance and coordination.

But this tiny warrior isn’t letting anything slow her down. With her first custom-made prosthetic, she’s learning how to walk—and she’s doing great! 💪 While she’s still figuring it out, we’re already thinking long-term: keeping her mobile, comfortable, and as cute as ever as she grows.

This is just the beginning of her journey. Stay tuned for more updates on her progress!

Lola had a very large liver mass successfully removed — and her cancer is officially cured! 💛 This is truly the best possible outcome, and we couldn’t be more thrilled. Her owner was understandably hesitant, as Lola had a tough recovery from surgery at another hospital a few years ago. But thanks to the skill and care of our surgical team, led by Dr. Mj, she went home just a couple days after surgery and is doing great.

It’s these kinds of stories that make our hearts feel full and remind us why we love what we do. 💕 We’re so grateful for this amazing team and so proud of Lola’s strength and recovery! 🐾💪

Custom Care in Progress

Here’s the first prototype of Chicken’s custom prosthetic! 🛠️
Big shoutout to Manhattan Metalworks for collaborating with us to design and print it just for her. We’re currently working on Prototype #2, and we’ll keep adjusting as she grows.

This partnership is opening doors to something even bigger: bringing prosthetic options to more of our veterinary patients in the future.

Stay tuned for more updates on Nubby's progress!

Summer is heating up! ☀️

Nap Queen 👑

Being irresistibly cute is exhausting. After a full day of bottle sessions, prosthetic practice, and general mayhem, Chicken McNubbins crashes hard.

Swipe to see some of her signature snooze styles—including the third pic, where she’s out cold in a shirt pocket. We call that one “The Nubbins Curl (Travel Edition).”

Meet Chicken McNubbins 🐣

Swipe to meet Chicken McNubbins, a 7-day-old kitten who came to us after a rough start to life.

She was first found with a missing back leg and brought to a local veterinarian’s clinic. A WSU tech student took her in due to concerns about her breathing and swelling in her front left leg. By the next morning, that swelling had spread to both front legs—and that’s when she was surrendered into our care.
We don’t know exactly what caused her initial injury, but whatever happened led to an infection that ultimately caused her to lose her left hind leg. That same infection likely sent micro-foci into her bloodstream, which settled in the capillary beds of her front limbs. Despite antibiotics, bandaging, and epsom salt soaks, she lost her left front paw—but we were able to save her right front leg.

On top of it all, Chicken lives with cerebellar hypoplasia, a neurological condition that makes her wobbly—and possibly a bit vision-impaired. But what she lacks in coordination, she more than makes up for in spirit (and volume).

❤️ She loves life, milk, screaming, and biting.

Stay tuned for her amazing journey—this tiny fighter is just getting started.

CJ came to us with an ulcerated re**al mass - something that can happen in older, intact male dogs. Thankfully, it turned out to be benign! 💛 Our team removed the ulcerated portion and neutered him, and now CJ is all fixed up and feeling so much better. We’re so glad we could help this lovable boy get back to living his best life! 🐾
