My favorite Winter hack for taking care of my goats. This lightweight flex able garden hose makes watering so much easier. I attach something heavy to the end of the hose to hold it in the trough. I attached a bolt to this one using a zip tie. When your tank is full it automatically drains when you shut the water off. Place it in a bucket and take it inside. No more draining hoses or coming out to find your hose is frozen.

I never really thought about how different minerals affected my herd until I had issues. This is a great read from Hefty Goat Holler Farm. After reading this article I now know why I saw such an up tick of my girls devouring Vitamin A from their mineral buffet.

Winters just around the corner so I’m on top of getting all the critters prepared for the cold weather. I’ve run extension cords to all of our outbuildings so I have a place to plug in my heaters for my water troughs. After blowing an extension cord and tank heater last year because moisture got in the plug I purchased these extension cord plug covers. They definitely took care of the problem. Wished I had purchased them sooner 🙄🤦‍♀️
