So August has been the month for new guests. I had Mav, Yoshi, another new guest is still here on an extended stay and then this past weekend siblings Honey (3yr old Golden Retriever) & Jackson (4yr old Bernedoodle) came to visit 🤗. Like my previous new guests they have been boarded before but this was their first time visiting The Ranch and I think it went great! It’s not often I introduce new guests to others to be playmates as I like to get to know them first but from the start I could see how gentle Honey & Jackson were so they did make a couple of friends😊. Truthfully it was Honey making the friends as she’s a bit more outgoing whereas Jackson is a bit more timid & shy ☺️. He loves his people though!💙 Maybe on their next visit Jackson will be ready to make a friend but if not, he has Honey and he sure loves her❤️. Thanks Mackenzie Burrus for trusting me with your sweet pups. I enjoyed getting to know them.

Bonnie, Jimmy & Fallon and Sophie were a few more weekend guests. Yoshi was lucky and had the pleasure of hanging out with Bonnie and Jimmy & Fallon. While Bonnie initially had to correct Yoshi about his manners 🙄, they soon figured it out and had fun!🤗 Jimmy & Fallon weren’t overly interested in playing with their small counterparts as Jimmy only had “ball” on the brain and Fallon was checking out some bigger guests. While I didn’t have a Lab guest (Fallon likes Labs), I did have a Golden Retriever so an introduction was made and…👍🏻. Sophie didn’t get a playmate this time but she seems to do just fine on her own😊. She’s got energy for days so she just does zoomies around the yard stopping to saying hello to the other guests. Of course the happiest part of her stay is going home😆but she’s a daddy’s girl🩷. Thanks Brandi Brannon, Macie Short, Jackie Lebow for allowing me to watch your sweet pups 😍. Just this past weekend I had another new guest~Yoshi💙. Yoshi is a 6yr old Maltese boy and just as cute as a bug😍. Yoshi, along with his Mom & Dad & brother came out to visit me before scheduling his stay. While Yoshi has been boarded before he can take a little time to warm up to people (loves dogs) but he did great. To get Yoshi  ready for a longer day they chose to have him visit just for a day to see how he’d do. Originally they picked a day where I had no small dogs so I asked if they’d wait until Saturday when I would have a couple. (FYI…just because I have dogs of similar size does not mean they will play with others, but I had a good feeling about who was here 🤞🏻). So Yoshi came Saturday and yes he played!🙌 He did need a few gentle reminders about not hu***ng other guests 🙄(what dog doesn’t do that!🤷‍♀️) but he took correction great and I have no doubt he’d be a fun little playmate for some of my other little guests😊. Thanks to his family ~Ganesh Iyer, Divya Iyer, for trusting me with your sweet little boy💙. He did great! (Thanks Mark Lam, Higgins’ dad, for the recommendation.)

So after my busy weekend back from vacation I had a new guest arrive~ Mav💙. Wow, another deliciously handsome chocolate Lab of about 3yrs😍. While Mav has a happy home now this poor guy was found dumped!😲 Unbelievable! His Mom & Dad took in this sad stray, loved him❤️, fed him 🦴and now look at this big boy livin his best life getting to be a country dog 🐶🥰! I only had Mav a couple of days and while he has been boarded before this was his first visit with us and I found him to be quiet, kinda keeping to himself checking things out. He wasn’t “all about me” which can be nice sometimes but I did want to interact with him so he allowed me to play ball with him. What he really enjoyed though was playing with my water bowls, outside & inside🤦🏻‍♀️, splashing water💦 everywhere! I may need to consider a bigger water bucket 🪣 for him! Mav happened to visit when it was pretty quiet for me, which I enjoyed but it also meant no playmates, but I don’t think he minded as he still was friendly visiting with my other couple of guests. I know visit #2 is on the calendar so maybe it will be a little more exciting. Thanks Stephanie Smith, Shane Smith for trusting me to watch your sweet boy💙.
