🙏 URGENT APPEAL - HELP MAKE 'RUSSET'S' DREAM A REALITY 🌿

We urgently need four additional release sites for this year's rescued cubs, including the hopeful 'Russet'. Can you help make her dreams come true?

'Russet' is one of the over 150 rescued cubs cared for in our foster system this year. While the majority have been returned to the wild or have sites prepared, Russet and her foster siblings, and 15 other cubs are still waiting for their chance.

We are currently looking for safe, rural/semi-rural land away from main roads and hunters, with no wild-raised cubs this year. Do you reside in Herts, Kent, Surrey or Sussex?

If your answer is yes, please consider providing a temporary sanctuary for a group of 5 cubs in a specially constructed pen on your property. These cubs will need care for 2 weeks before release, with possible support for 2 weeks post-release. In return, you will witness their first moments of freedom and see them thrive in their natural habitat.

There is no financial cost to you, and we will provide guidance and assistance throughout.

Villalobos Rescue Center (VRC) is a private, non-profit 501 (C) 3 organization. As far as donations go, we are not funded by the state, city, parish, or any other entity. Losing our TV show really impacted our income, which is why we had to close down our New Orleans location. So here’s the full story.

For 13 years, we reigned on Animal Planet (Discovery Network) as their longest-running series. In addition, we have won multiple awards for “Pit Bulls & Parolees,” which is something we are so proud of. But neither of these things could save us when Animal Planet was sold to Warner Brothers, who then decided to shut down the entire network, thus leaving some great shows scrambling. We were, of course, one of them. To this day, we do not know why Animal Planet was sold or why the entire network was dumped. No one has ever given us an explanation to this day. So the REAL reality hit…we needed to find money!

The first item on the survival list was to cut costs, and one of those was paying rent for the beautiful building we had just rented in New Orleans. It took us over a year to move the dogs and everything packed up, but we finally did it, and by February 2025, we were no longer residents of New Orleans. It was bittersweet, and we left knowing that there were other dog and cat rescues in the Big Easy that would step in and continue helping the animals of the Crescent City. So we had to put our entire focus into our other location: Assumption Parish (Napoleonville), Louisiana.

We hope to start tours and a new volunteer program up very soon. The atmosphere is just too beautiful to not have guests enjoy it along with some attention hungry dogs. Keep checking back with our social media platforms for updates!
