Hi everyone,
I’ve decided to stop offering my dog waste cleanup services. I’ve only been doing this for about a month, but it’s become clear that it’s not working out in a way that makes sense for me or my family.
Right now, I have five customers — three weekly and two biweekly. Of the weekly clients, only one has consistently paid, which means just 33% are following through. Across all five, only three are current on payments — that’s just 60%.
I’ve already completed $40 worth of services that I haven’t been paid for. That might not sound like much, but this side job barely covers my gas as it is. I didn’t start this to make a big profit — I wanted to help others and have something small for myself outside the house. But when people don’t pay, it turns into me spending my own money and time away from my family just to do the work.
I’ve been flexible and understanding with payments and tight budgets, but I’m still left chasing people down — and often getting ignored. That’s exhausting. I’ve been covering Whiting, Onawa, and Blencoe, which is a lot of time and gas for something that’s barely breaking even.
To those of you who communicated and paid — thank you. I really appreciated that and enjoyed helping you out. But going forward, I will no longer be offering dog waste cleanup services.
