Now that spring has sprung you may notice your beagle is starting to shed their winter fur. Make sure to keep brushing your furry friend weekly with a medium-bristle brush, a hound glove, or another grooming tool.

This upcoming week is National Animal Poison Prevention Week, and we want to 'paws' for a moment to highlight household items that can poison your furry friends:

1. Sweet foods such as gum, candy, mints, multivitamins, and desserts that contain xylitol
2. Human drugs like NSAIDs, acetaminophen, and antidepressants
3. Flowers like bluebells, daffodils, holly, tulips, and more
4. Chocolate, especially dark chocolate
5. Fertilizers and pest control products

Remember to store pet-toxic products in a safe place or remove them.
