I have canceled the October 8th Versatility Challenge due to the fact that the course and the trails are just still way to wet and we are very busy with the lawsuit against us and trying to save our trail system. We hope to get back to offering our events in 2024

To everyone wondering why we have not offered our trail rides this year… # 1- The lawsuit against us which has a huge impact on our trails has been very time consuming # 2- Unfortunately while working on the trails in August I fell off of some boulders and broke 2 ribs and cracked my sternum which has been difficult # 3 the continued rain in Whitefield has made our trails extremely wet and I have to respect my landowners who are very generous about the use of their land . I will be honest that even our annual Trail Challenge is in jeopardy because we have depositions in regards to the lawsuit the week after the event date. Trying to make it happen!

Save the date! Acorn Hill Farm will be offering our Trail Challenge again in 2023. Date is October 7th with rain date of October 8th. We will be updating our course throughout the Spring / Summer and offering clinics and practice sessions later in the Summer. See you on the course!

We will be hosting a trail ride on both Saturday and Sunday, October 8th & 9th . These rides are being offered instead of the Trail Versatility Challenge due to lack of help and funds. I have been fighting to save our vast trail system here in Whitefield and it has been time consuming and costly. Trail ride will be ride at your own rate with trails marked. I hope you can join us. Cost $25.00 and riders out starting at 10:00.

This gelding will be available in the Topsham Fairgrounds Livestock Sale on Saturday. He is road safe, trail ridden, ties well, is unregistered and 11 years old. No show or Dressage experience. Not our horse, so I do not have a lot of info, but he is ridden to our farm quite often and is well behaved what I have seen. Definitely worth a look!

Great horsemanship clinic today with Kevin Crane. We had 8 participants of all different horse types and disciplines of riders. Horses did fantastic considering it was everyone’s first outing of the year. Thanks Kevin & Bethany

We are having a Horsemanship Clinic with Kevin Crane next Saturday, March 26th from 12:00 to 3:00. We currently have a nice group of horses and riders participating and could add 2 more if you wish to join this clinic. We always have room for auditors too. $25.00 to audit- message or call to see if we still have room to accept riders.

Giant concerns for the farmers in my area with the bad news from Songbird Farm in Unity. They have just found out their land is contaminated with PFAS from the spreading of bio solids in the 1990’s. I am thinking this “free” fertilizer product was also spread throughout my town back then. Hoping not the same stuff!

Looking for a unicorn, well actually a perfect pony that my grandchildren and AHF boarder Jeanne Fuller’s granddaughters can share. Must be 12 hands or under, safe for toddlers and young kids, can be older, but must be sound. Most importantly, safe for little children to lead and ride under supervision. Amish neighbor stopped by today riding a nice looking Paint horse he would like to sell. Bought with another horse and this one does not fit their needs. This horse is real cute, 14.2 - 14.3 hands, real correct, clean legs, black and white, around 10 years old and seemed pretty calm considering he had not been worked for awhile. Asking price is $3500.00. This gelding will make someone a nice horse! Message me about him.

My two Bazinga c**ts Zhivago & Zinatra are being saddle started with Kevin Crane. They are progressing really well and I have been enjoying my time at Crane Horse Farm working and improving my horsemanship skills with Kevin’s instruction. If you are willing to try you can teach an old dog new tricks !! Old riding habits are tough to work on but it is fun and enlightening working with Kevin. Looking forward to them coming home to Acorn Hill Farm and seeing where we go from here. Thanks Kevin!!!
