🐾 Meet Pongo! 🐾

Pongo is a one-year-old mini Schnauzer with a heart full of love and a serious need for snuggles. When he came to us, he was a tangled ball of fluff—matted, messy, and in need of some TLC. Thankfully, our friends at Motown Mutts gave him the full glow-up he deserved to help him get adoption-ready.

We thought he’d be scooped up in a heartbeat… but somehow, a whole month has passed and Pongo is still waiting.

This little guy is:

All Pongo wants in life is to be held, carried around like a baby, and doted on like the adorable prince he is. We honestly can’t believe he’s still here — he’s got so much love to give and is just looking for the right lap to call home.

Today a shelter employee told me that their biggest struggle is having enough kitty litter. PAWS Protecting Animals of White Settlement currently has 40 cats on board. In light of this all nail trims will be free with any kitty litter donation! Just bring it with you when you get your nail trims and we will get it to them. We will also accept any donations for them at the salon 🙂

The catastrophic floods across Kerrville and surrounding communities 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐞𝐟𝐭 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐬𝐡𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝. Families displaced. Shelters overflowing.

At HSNT, we’re doing everything we can to support these pets and the people who love them.

This week, two critical flights—coordinated by our partners at Wings of Rescue and CUDDLY —will deliver thousands of pounds of desperately needed pet food and supplies to the flood zone. Then, pets who were 𝐚𝐥𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐝𝐬 will be flown out to North Texas and beyond. This opens up essential kennel space for the surge of displaced pets, giving families in flood-affected areas a chance to reunite with their beloved animals without shelters being forced into heartbreaking decisions.

We’ll begin welcoming some of these pets 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲, and they will need safe spaces to land and time to heal. This is where you come in.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up. A dear client of mine had to rush her baby in to the vet today because she collapsed. She was diagnosed with Lyme disease. This is commonly spread through ticks but not all ticks have it. I’m letting everyone know that there must be ticks in the area carrying it and I strongly encourage everyone to treat their yards and please, please, please make sure your pup is on a good, strong flea preventative. Advantix ii is a great affordable option if you are looking for something on the cheaper end. You can get this at family dollar or pets mart. Amazon even has their version for even cheaper. Bravecto is top tier but I know sometimes a vet visit and a pricey pill isn’t always an option for everyone.

This cutie is available for adoption at PAWS Protecting Animals of White Settlement. My best guess is a schnauzer or a schnauzer mix. I’m pretty sure he is a puppy. He was pretty nervous and grouchy but after he was shaved he was super affectionate and spunky. Don’t let his nudity fool you, he is gonna grow out SUPER cute! Tiny little dude!
