36 hours after she arrived, beautiful little Fluffy poked her head out from under the sideboard. She is frightened for now, but allows pets and and rubs her ears into them. Oh Fluffy, we promise you'll feel safer soon!

Can we be realistic? Every.single.day. Every single day we come across cats whose owners thought they had a plan for their cat in place, and after the owner's death, (surprise!) their wishes weren't followed. Or, 7 days a week, we come across cats of all ages, in shelters/in rescues/on the street, who are looking for homes because their owner passed away or went to a nursing home. Beautiful Punkin's mom went to the hospital and never came home. Without a plan to fall back on, Punkin went to the shelter where she remained, terrified in a cage, barely eating, for a month until she was sent to a foster home.

This 10 year old is a lovely cuddler that enjoys laying on your feet or lap, or stretched out ohsoclose to you! Punkin can also be playful when you get her started with the good old feather wand.

Punkin is a very good girl, and would love to find a quiet home with a person of her own again. If you'd like to meet her, message NoVa Cats .( Similar name, different org from ours.)

Godspeed, Mishka!
One of our very first kitty clients, Mishka, (on the right) crossed over the Rainbow Bridge recently. When he and pal Leila came to us, they were already about 18 or 19 years old, and we were not about to separate them for easier adoption. They stayed with us, loved on and cared for, until a wonderful home was found for them, together, with their amazing new mamma Gail.

At 20 years old or very close to it, Mishka's time came and he left this world peacefully and with dignity. From the bottom of our hearts, we would like to thank Gail for adopting 2 very elderly kitties, never separating them, and giving them so much love and comfort. It's all one could ask for. ♥️♥️

To be much closer to family, Gigi and her elderly mom came up from Florida to move to a local assisted living facility. Every northern Virginia facility we have checked so far *will* allow 1 cat, if you are able to take care of it.
