We’re still buzzing from this year’s VEG ER for Pets Campus Ambassador Orientation in sunny Orlando, FL! 72 passionate, animal-loving student ambassadors gathered, ready to dive into the VEG Way and get pumped for a semester of campus fun. They heard from superhero VEG vets, went behind the scenes at VEG in Winter Park, FL, and bonded at Disney. It was a weekend packed with purpose and paw-sitive vibes!
VEG Campus Ambassadors are DVM students who step into something bigger than a typical campus role—they’re part of a community reimagining what emergency vet med can be. As on-campus liaisons, they bring the energy, share what makes VEG different, and get opportunities to build skills that will shape their future careers.
This fall, they’ll be hosting nationwide events students won’t want to miss - think giveaways, meeting our badass VEG ER docs, and a chance to see what is really like. If you’re a student, find your school’s ambassadors in the comments and get plugged in to what’s happening on your campus this fall!

Chlorine poisoning in dogs? Yes, it’s real, and our vet ER sees it every summer. 🐶💦
Vomiting, mouth ulcers, throat pain - even a small amount of pool water or a chlorine tablet can land your pet in the animal hospital. Don’t guess when it comes to your dog’s health.
Wondering how safe chlorine really is for pets? 🧐

Perhaps it was the accidental tumble down the stairs that your puppy took, or the bag of chocolate candy that your Chihuahua ate in the middle of the night. Or maybe your cat got into the lily bush on the 4th of July. Pet emergencies can happen at any time, day or night, but not every veterinary hospital is open 24/7. That’s where we come in. Veterinary Emergency Group is open nights, weekends, and holidays to help with all of your pet’s emergencies when your regular veterinary hospital is closed.
With three locations to serve you, we provide exceptional emergency and urgent care for pets. We also have the only dedicated emergency hospitals in Westchester and Rockland Counties designed from the ground up, and we’ve been meeting pets’ emergency needs for over 25 years. With our modern diagnostic tools and treatment services, combined with our emergency doctors with advanced post-graduate training, your pet will be in good hands with us.
How We're Different
We treat pets like people and people like human beings: You treat your pet like a member of your family, so why shouldn’t we? You deserve respect, understanding, and our best effort to help, so that’s how we’ll treat you!
You can speak directly with a doctor: We know that what you really want is to speak with a doctor. All medical questions will be answered by one of our experienced emergency veterinarians.
We're flexible: One size does not fit all. We'll sit with you as long as you need to come up with a plan that works for you and your pet.
You and your pet can stay together: Whenever possible, you can stay with your pet during treatment to comfort them, see all that we do and how we do it, and have all your questions answered by our medical team.
We're open nights, weekends, and holidays: We’re open all night every night of the year as well as 24 hours through every weekend and every major holiday. If your family vet is closed, and you have an emergency, that can’t wait. We’re here for you.
