What a sweet surprise! 🎉🐾

This very good birthday boy, Axel, and his sister Audi celebrated in the most generous way possible - by donating ALL of these toys and treats to our shelter pups in lieu of birthday gifts 🥹💕

And to make the day even sweeter, their mom Jess and Aunt April from Bad Mother Puppers Pet Grooming stopped by with Rita’s for our dogs, too! Thank you all for making our shelter kiddos feel so loved 🐾

This week, Dottie is showing off two of her favorite skills: sunbathing and being an absolute goofball. 😎

She's been busy enjoying walks, going on runs, catching rays in the yard, and rolling around like a complete nut. In true Dottie fashion, she even snubbed a hot dog treat this week. A HOT DOG. 🌭🙄

We told you she’s one of a kind.✨✨

Behind all the silliness is a wonderful girl who's still waiting for her forever family.

Dottie is a 2.5-year-old, 60 lb pittie mix who was picked up as a stray in 2024. Since then, she's worked hard and recently completed a board-and-train program to help her succeed in her future home.

🏁💙 WE CAN'T BELIEVE DAYTONA IS STILL HERE! 💙🏁

Honestly, we're starting to think Daytona missed the memo that he's supposed to have a family by now.

This lovable 2-year-old, 50-pound pittie mix has all the qualities people say they're looking for: handsome, affectionate, playful, goofy, and completely devoted to his people. Yet somehow, he's still waiting.

Daytona is the kind of dog who fills a room with happiness. Whether he's making you laugh with his silly antics, leaning in for pets, or following you around because being near his favorite humans is his favorite thing in the world, he has a way of making every day brighter.✨

He's a big-hearted boy who loves to play and loves even harder. If you're searching for a loyal best friend to share life's adventures (and probably your personal space), Daytona is ready for the job.🐕

🐾 Daytona would love an active home! He enjoys going for walks, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with his people.

🐾 Don't worry - he's not "go, go, go" all the time! One of Daytona's favorite hobbies is proudly settling down with a toy and showing off his impressive chewing skills. Seriously, as long as you're nearby to admire his hard work, he's perfectly content.😆

🐶Daytona seems to do well with other dogs and may enjoy having a playful canine companion.

🐈We're unsure how he feels about cats, but we're happy to cat test for serious adopters.

💙Because he's a strong, enthusiastic guy who occasionally forgets that he's not lap-dog-sized, we'd recommend a home with older children who are comfortable around larger dogs.

The truth is, Daytona isn't asking for much. Just a family to love, a couch to nap on, and people to call his own.

And we can't help but think that family is out there wondering where their perfect dog is... while Daytona is right here wondering where his people are. 💙🐾

🚨 Our Annual Rabies Clinic is Coming Up TOMORROW! 🚨

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, June 7 from 11AM–2PM at the White Oak Boro Building parking lot (2280 Lincoln Way, White Oak, PA 15131) to get your pets vaccinated and protected!

💉 Vaccines Available:
- $5 Rabies (White Oak residents)
- $10 Rabies (non-residents)
- $15 FVRCP (cats)
- $15 DHLPP (dogs)
- $15 Bordetella (dogs)

📌 Important Information:
- Walk-in only - first come, first served
- There WILL be a line, so please be respectful of wait times, and please bring water for your pets!
- Cats must be in carriers
- Dogs must be on leashes
- 3 year rabies vaccines available IF you have proof of a prior, non expired one-year vaccine from the year previous
- Pets must be healthy and not pregnant

Meet Wizard! 🔮✨🐾
Every great wizard has a special talent... and ours just happens to be stealing hearts.💓

This charming 4-year-old, medium sized, 25lb boy is what we believe to be a Lab mix... but who's to say? Some mysteries are best left unsolved.

Wizard (or "Wizzy" to his esteemed colleagues🧙‍♂️) may not be able to pull rabbits out of hats, but he can make tennis balls disappear into endless games of fetch! Seriously, if you're willing to throw it, Wizard is willing to chase it. Again. And again. And again.🎾

Wizard was originally found as a stray, but you would never guess it from his cheerful attitude. He's sweet, friendly, playful, and always ready for his next adventure. Whether he's heading out for a walk, chasing after a ball, or proudly presenting you with one of his favorite toys, this little magician knows how to keep life fun.🪄

Once his daily wizarding duties are complete, his favorite spell is transforming himself into a lap dog. ✨ After a good play session, he'll happily curl up beside you for snuggles before recharging for his next magical quest. One minute he's zooming after a tennis ball, and the next he's curled up in your lap wondering why anyone would ever need personal space.

🔮 Wizard would love a home that enjoys playtime as much as he does. Fetch is his specialty, and he's always ready for a walk or an adventure with his favorite humans.

🪬 He seems to do best with smaller dogs. While he's happy to share his charm with them, he'd prefer not to compete with larger dogs for the spotlight.✨

🔮 We're unsure how he feels about cats, but we can cat test for serious inquiries.

🪬 Wizard would do best with older children who are comfortable around dogs.

These days, Wizard is patiently waiting at the shelter, practicing his tricks, perfecting his fetch game, and believing that his forever family is just around the corner.

✨ We have a feeling that the right family won't need a crystal ball to see how special he is! 😆 All they'll need is one game of fetch, one walk, and one snuggle session to realize they've found their perfect companion.🐕

✨🐾 Our Huskies are STILL HERE 🐾✨
…and they are still waiting for the families who will change their lives. 💔

These four 7-month-old husky mix puppies have come so far from where they started, but they are still in need of homes. Every day they’re here is another day we’re working to show them that life can be kind, safe, and full of love… but what they really need now is a home of their own to keep that progress going.

We are honestly hoping this is the moment the right people see them.💗 If you’ve ever thought about opening your home to a dog who truly needs a second chance, ✨these pups are it✨. They are learning, growing, and trying so hard, but they need patient families willing to meet them where they are and help them discover everything they’ve missed.

After coming from a hoarding situation, they arrived terrified, under-socialized, and unsure of the world around them. With time, routine, and gentle care, they’ve made incredible progress… but they are still very much on their journey.

✨ And they are each so uniquely beautiful:

💖 Jiji – Female | Brindle & White (both ears flop down)
Jiji is still our confident spark in the group. She enjoys affection, loves her walks, and is happiest playing with her siblings. She’s affectionate, social, and often helps the others feel braver just by being herself.

💛 Jaska – Female | Tan & White
Jaska is our playful observer! She loves other dogs and lives for zoomies and yard play. With people, she still takes her time, but once she trusts you, her curiosity and sweetness start to shine through. Treats definitely help speed up the friendship. 🍖

💝 Jovi – Female | Brown & Tan
Jovi has a soft, gentle spirit and continues to amaze us with her bravery. She has started to seek out pets and has made huge milestones, including confidently exploring outside on leash. She still needs quiet patience, but she is absolutely beginning to blossom.

💙 Juneau – Male | Sable & White
Juneau is the steady big brother, happiest when he’s with his sisters. He gains confidence from other dogs and loves to play and explore with them nearby. He is sweet, gentle, and does best when he has canine companionship and calm reassurance.

These puppies are still working through their socialization journey, and because of their background, they will thrive in calm homes with patient adopters… ideally with another confident dog to help guide them. 🐕💕

What they need now is simple, but so important: time, understanding, and someone willing to believe in who they are becoming, not just who they are today.

🌟We are truly hoping someone out there is ready to step up and change their story. 🌟

Nothing says love quite like scooping litter, buying toys they ignore, and giving hugs they may or may not have asked for 🤣❤️ Our staff and volunteers shared photos celebrating with their own kitties today!

And while everyone understood the assignment… Rooney and Walker (both rescues, and Rooney is a WOASH alum!) may have taken it the most literally 😹🐾

These two best friends are a bonded pair searching for their forever home together and their adoption fee is fully sponsored!🌟

Abaddon is an 8-year-old, 40lb Pittie mix, and Crowley is an 8-year-old, 70lb Bully mix. These sweet souls have spent years together and originally came to us back in April. We are so committed to finding them the loving home they deserve … together. 💗💕

Abaddon and Crowley were surrendered through no fault of their own when their owner could no longer afford their care and didn't have enough space for them in a small apartment. They arrived with their daughter, Coda, who has already found her happily-ever-after with a wonderful family and canine sibling. Now it's Mom and Dad's turn.

✅ Past the "terrible twos" stage
✅ House-trained and know basic commands
✅ Well-mannered and experienced house pets
✅ Calm, easygoing companions

🐶Abaddon is an amazing girl with a big personality. She loves her people, listens well, and will happily "talk" to you about her day. She’s a pretty calm gal but still enjoys playing and having fun!

🐶Crowley is a handsome, snuggly boy who would love to be the center of your world. He's playful, friendly, and incredibly sweet. Most importantly, he absolutely adores Abaddon and always wants to be by her side.

They have lived with other dogs before, although Crowley does best with female dogs. They have also lived with cats and would likely do well with respectful children.
These two wonderful dogs have so much love left to give.

🖤 Foster Home Needed for Vader 🖤

Vader is a 2-year-old boy who is looking for a calm, stable foster home where he can relax, decompress, and thrive at his own pace.

Vader came to us after his previous owner reported issues with urinating and defecating outside of the litter box. Since arriving at WOASH, he has consistently used his litter box and has not had any accidents in his cage. However, shelter life can be stressful, and we believe he would benefit from a quiet home environment where we can better evaluate his needs.

Vader is currently on medication for anxiety. He spends most of his days curled up in his bed, rarely plays with toys, and sometimes doesn’t eat as much as we’d like. We suspect the constant activity of the shelter may simply be overwhelming for him, and we’d love to see how he does in a peaceful home setting. Our hope is to determine whether he will need to remain on medication long-term or if he may eventually be able to be weaned off of it.

Vader is front declawed and would ideally like to be the only pet in the home, though he may do well with calm, friendly cats. He would do best in a home without small children, and may do okay with older, cat-respectful kids.

As a foster, you provide the love, patience, and safe space Vader needs while he prepares for adoption, and we provide everything else - including food, litter, supplies, veterinary care, medications, and ongoing support.

We loved showing the troop around the shelter, introducing them to our adoptable kitties, and sharing what we do every day for the animals in our care. A huge thank you for all of the amazing donations they brought with them…. and for the handmade cat scratchers they created for our cats! The kitties are already putting them to good use. ❤️

We are so grateful for your kindness, generosity, and support of homeless animals. Thank you for making a difference for the pets in our care! 🐱✨
