General Guidelines
During a purple/maroon air quality alert (AQI 201–500), it is crucial to prioritize the health and safety of your horse. The following recommendations should be followed:

Postpone all non-essential activities: Avoid riding or exercising your horse during this time.
Consider relocating: If possible, move your horse to a location with better air quality to minimize exposure to harmful pollutants.
Outdoor Management
If your horse must remain outside during a purple air quality alert:

Limit exertion: Keep the horse away from any strenuous activities to protect its respiratory health.
Protect breathing: Ensure that the horse has access to a sheltered area where it can avoid direct exposure to smoke and pollutants.
