Now Hiring: Cat Groomer at MeowWoof Pet Grooming

MeowWoof Pet Grooming in White Bluff, TN is looking to add a cat groomer to our small, calm, quality-focused salon.

We are a small-breed dog and cat grooming salon with a focus on gentle handling, skin and coat care, and creating a lower-stress grooming experience for pets.

We’re looking for someone who is confident, patient, and experienced with cats.

Position:

Pet Groomer / Groomer with Cat Experience

Ideal candidate:

* Has experience safely grooming cats
* Understands feline body language and stress signals
* Can bathe, dry, brush, deshed, shave, and handle matting safely
* Is calm, patient, and gentle
* Keeps safety first — always
* Works well in a peaceful, small salon environment
* Communicates professionally with clients
* Is reliable and drama-free
* Is comfortable working by appointment only

Bonus if you:

* Have Fear Free or feline handling education
* Have experience with skin/coat care
* Are also comfortable grooming small dogs under 40 lbs

About MeowWoof:

MeowWoof is a small, appointment-only grooming salon serving small dogs and cats. We use high-quality products and focus on comfort, safety, and a customized grooming experience — not rushed assembly-line grooming.

Schedule:

Part-time to start.
Days/hours can be discussed.

Pay:

Based on experience and skill level.

Dearest pack members and fur-ends,

It is once again time for a little Friday, I’m in Love recap from the MeowWoof pack. 🐾💕

This week, our sweet student extern, Evelyn, is finishing up her last few hands-on training hours with us, and let it be known throughout the grooming ton… this girl is going to make an amazing groomer. She has such a gentle heart, a willingness to learn, and that special kind of patience this work truly requires.

Honestly, if she lived closer, we would gladly keep her right here with us at MeowWoof. But alas, distance has other plans. So, if any of our fur-ends ever find themselves needing a groomer out near Darden, Tennessee, reach out… I know a gal. 😉

We have also had the joy of welcoming a few new beloved pack members into the MeowWoof family, while also saying goodbye to a few of our precious elderly ones. Those goodbyes are never easy. Every gray muzzle, every slow little step, every familiar face that has trusted us over the years leaves paw prints on our hearts forever.

MeowWoof is growing, changing, and stepping into a beautiful new chapter. We are actively searching for like-minded groomers who understand that this work is more than haircuts — it is care, patience, connection, and heart.

Here’s to our students, our seniors, our new pack members, our longtime loyal fur-ends, and the happy pack we are continuing to build together.

We are growing and I am ready to bring in another experienced groomer who truly loves this work, respects the pets in their care, and wants to be part of a calm, supportive, heart-centered grooming environment.

I am looking for someone with professional grooming experience, confidence handling dogs of different coat types and temperaments, and a genuine passion for continued learning, skin and coat care, and quality over quantity.

At MeowWoof, we are more than just a grooming salon — we are a Synergy Pet Spaw, built on trust, patience, education, and connection with both pets and their people.

✨ Student Spotlight: Meet Evelyn ✨

Watching someone begin their grooming journey reminds me exactly why I fell in love with this industry almost 29 years ago. I’m so proud of Evelyn and the passion, patience, and gentle heart she’s already showing at the grooming table. She’s going to make an incredible groomer someday. 💕✂️🐾

Truthfully, if she lived closer, I’d hire her in a heartbeat.

This moment also has me reflecting on my own journey. In 2018, after my car wreck in 2017 left me permanently disabled 15%, I was told by 3 orthopedic specialists and a chiropractor that my body likely wouldn’t survive grooming more than another 3 years. Yet here I am in 2026… still showing up every day for the pets, the people, and the passion that built me.

Has it taken a toll on my body? Absolutely.
But when you’re a single mom with dreams bigger than your circumstances, you learn how to keep going even when life tells you not to.

If there’s a place to groom, I’ve probably groomed there…
Corporate salons.
Mom & pop shops.
Veterinary clinics.
My own home.
Clients’ homes.
Under a carport.
Even once out of the trunk of my car.

This industry has been my entire life, my survival story, and my calling all wrapped into one.

As I approach my 30th year in grooming, my goals are shifting. I dream of stepping back from the grooming table and focusing more on growing MeowWoof into the peaceful synergy-based grooming spaw I’ve always envisioned — with a small team of groomers who truly care about the emotional and physical wellbeing of pets.

I also want to continue building my Synergy coaching program, mentoring future groomers, and hopefully one day teaching and speaking at grooming expos. Because every groomer has something valuable to teach… and something new to learn.

That’s one thing I always tell my students:
Learn from as many groomers as you can.
Take what resonates.
Leave what doesn’t.
What works for me may work for you. What works for you may help someone else.

There are far more pets needing quality grooming than there are groomers to provide it — and if I can leave even a small positive mark on this industry through teaching, coaching, and encouraging others, then every hard season along the way was worth it. 💜

✨Beginning today, MeowWoof Pet Grooming is discontinuing our DIY Dog Wash service. While we love being able to offer the option to our pack members, we are simply no longer finding the space or time needed to make the service work the way we would like for our salon.

Thank you to everyone who supports and uses the service. We’re excited to continue focusing our energy on personalized grooming and spaw experience we love providing for your fuzzy pups n kitties. 🐾💜🫶🏻✨

Busy boutique pet spaw seeking our next pawfect match — a talented, experienced groomer who loves quality grooming, kind handling, loyal clients, and a workplace with synergy and heart.

We stay booked out 6–8 weeks with loyal clientele on routine grooming schedules, and we currently have a waitlist of about 20 pets. That means the right groomer can step into a busy schedule right from the start.

Our ideal groomer:
🐾 Has 2+ years professional grooming experience
🐾 Takes pride in clean prep work and quality finishes
🐾 Is kind, reliable, and team-minded
🐾 Understands that every pet has a personality (fear-free certified is a plus)
🐾 Can handle fluff, fur, wet kisses, dramatic pups, and the occasional “I promise I brushed him” situation …
