💦Hydration Station: Don’t Forget the Water!
🥵Summer heat = thirsty pets! Just like us, dogs and cats need plenty of fresh, cool water to stay healthy and comfortable—especially after playtime, walks, or a grooming appointment.

🪧Signs your pet might be dehydrated:
• Dry nose or gums
• Lethargy
• Sunken eyes
• Panting or fast breathing

Pro tip: Add a second water bowl in another part of your home or try pet-safe ice cube treats for extra encouragement to drink.

At the salon, I always make sure your pet has access to water and stays safe during warmer days. Their health and happiness come first—inside and outside the salon!

☀️👙Summer Coat Myths Busted!
Did you know that shaving your double-coated dog in the summer can actually make them hotter—not cooler?

📚Here’s why:
Double-coated breeds (like Huskies, Golden Retrievers, Aussies, and more) have two layers of fur:
• A soft undercoat that insulates
• A protective outer coat that helps regulate temperature and protects the skin from sunburn and bug bites

🪒When shaved, this natural system gets disrupted, leaving them vulnerable to overheating, sun damage, and even coat damage that may not grow back correctly.

🪮💈So what’s the best way to help them stay cool?
• Regular brushing to remove loose undercoat
• Proper bathing, hydration, and drying to keep skin and coat healthy
• Scheduled grooms to keep things tidy—without buzzing the coat down

☀️Summer Heat & Humidity Reminder!
As the temperatures rise, don’t forget—it’s not just us humans who feel the heat… our pets do too!

Hot weather and high humidity can make it harder for pets to regulate their body temperature, increasing the risk of overheating. Always make sure your pets have access to shade, fresh water, and a cool place to rest—especially after a grooming appointment or playtime outside.

🌧️🌦️Rainy or humid days = longer drying times. Just like it takes our hair longer to air-dry in thick summer air, pets’ coats may take more time to fully dry after a bath or groom. I take the extra time to make sure your pet is dried safely and comfortably—so thank you for your patience!

Let’s keep everyone safe and cool this summer—two-legged and four-legged friends alike!

🐾Understanding Pet Stress & Anxiety at MeowWoof

At MeowWoof, we know grooming isn’t just about a clean coat—it’s about emotional safety.

Stress is a response to what’s happening now (like loud noises or unfamiliar hands).
Anxiety is the fear of what might happen—even before the grooming starts.

Stress shows up in:
• Cold paws or ears
• Tense muscles
• Upset stomach
• Hypervigilance or total shutdown

These aren’t “bad behaviors”—they’re signs your pet is overwhelmed.

That’s why we listen, adjust, and prioritize relaxation with every pet.

Many of my pack parents know I’ve been on a long, frustrating journey with eating and digestion issues for the past two years.

I didn’t have all the answers—but I kept going. 💪🏻

Now, after 3 months on my Plexus routine, the daily nausea is finally gone. I feel like I’m finally getting my spark back.

This journey isn’t over—but it is changing. My gut health, my energy, and overall wellness are improving every day.

I’d love to have more support and friendly faces to share this journey with!

🤗Even as a kid, I had this unspoken connection with animals. I could tell when a dog was nervous before anyone else noticed, or when a cat just needed space instead of cuddles. It wasn’t something I was taught—it was just something I felt.
