This is a gentle reminder that if you have goats with healthy feet, they need trimmed every 4-8 weeks.

I have had an increase this year of goats that are laminitic and distorted. The only way to fix either is with regular trims. A goat such as pictured I recommend 2-4 week trims until we get it back into a normal frame. With the example pictured I had to take off an average of 1 1/2" of overgrowth per toe. It had encapsulated grass seeds, hay fragments, and manure pellets within the overgrowth. Distorted and laminitic trims are more $$ than the regular just maintenance trims in these circumstances. The distorted/laminitic trim rate also varies depending on the severity of the hooves.

Sheep are hit and miss but most sheep should be done every 3-6 months.

Unless your livestock LIVE on concrete, they need trimmed regularly. Concrete or other harsh terrain do help to trim down the hooves naturally and can make it where they can go longer between maintenance trims. If your terrain is soft, especially wet, you need a shorter cycle time frame.

Things have finally slowed down some and I do have openings for more trimming clients, my messenger is messing up and I'm not able to access it fully and respond. Please text the number or email me from the contact info listed under the about me section on this page!

ANOTHER ANNOUNCEMENT!!!!!

I was able to find a local liquid nitrogen supplier and I will be offering freeze branding locally after I get a little more practice in.

At this time you will need to have your own freeze brand on hand, I do not have any standard irons at this time but that is also in the works! You will also need your vet on hand if you wish to sedate or get the sedation meds from the vet and administer them yourself, I cannot sedate your horse for you.

If you do not sedate your horse or have some form of chute/hobbles to limit movement I cannot gurantee your brand will come out crisp and clean like the photo I attached.

Brands can be hip, shoulder, or jowl

*disclaimer: this photo is not a brand I did, just an example of what it looks like after it is healed*

I have not been posting much as while I am staying busy with trimming, sitting, and hauling. Show season has also begun! Add in all the rain we have had, I have had to rebuild and rerun fence as our ground is getting too saturated and giving way. If anyone happenes to know somewhere locally to the Wheeling, WV area that has a spot to board one stallion please let me know!

You can go to his page and see he is not the common unruly, destructive, ill mannered stallion that most are known to be. I owned his mama, bred her, birthed him out, I have owned him his entire life, and personally trained him myself. He is respectful and gentleman in society, he wouldn't still have his 🥜 if he wasn't, especially at 1600 lbs. Send me a PM or text if you think you may have a lead!

This rain doesn't seem like it is going to let up and I only see things getting more saturated so I am not sure if this would just be a temporary solution or a more permanent boarding situation at this time.

If anyone would be interested in leasing Thor let me know! He's racked up lots of blues in the halter classes he has been hauled out to. Just broke him out to ride and drive last year. He has roughly 90 days total under his belt with each so I would still consider him green but he is already pretty sane with everything just inexperienced and no silly business. I've ridden and driven him all over the farm, on the trails, and up and down the main road. He will also be competed in riding and driving at shows this year if he remains here.

If I can't find someone to lease him I am looking for somewhere to board him temporarily as our farm has had some significant land shift taking out some pastures and the main driveway. Musical pastures has become difficult due to the damages we have recieved. Doesn’t have to be a horse/boarding barn, I'd be fine running him with cattle. I am willing to help on the farm he would be at also. If possible I would need 1 parking spot for my horse trailer - 14' on the floor gooseneck - too but not a must. Close to the Wheeling, WV area

Don't forget I do offering hauling! Only a small setup but yet a large amount of room for now! Good for horses, ponies, donkies, sheep, and goats!

Left shows a 16.2 H 1600 lb draft and right shows a 15 H 1000 lb stock horse in the same front slant and the rear slant is even larger! Divider can also be removed.

I only do CLEAN hauls, no sale barn sickies, personal farms only with clean vet records.
