FRIENDLY REMINDER: As many gear up for the impending heat wave, it's important to watch where you (and your pets) are walking. As air temperatures surge into the 90s, both concrete and asphalt temperatures will catapult to dangerous levels. That can burn your pups paws if you're not careful.

Sorry for the lack of updates on little Cosmo (Darby) he’s been an absolute joy he’s doing so well! He thinks everyone should love him and he LOVES kids!

This is a PSA regarding ingestible flea and tick products. If your dog has been having seizures one of these products may be the cause. Please share this post

Subject: FDA flea and tick products alert and Seresto collar.

This letter is regarding flea and tick products the FDA has issued an alert for that can cause dog’s to have seizures and sometimes the seizures are fatal. There’s also a link to an article regarding the Seresto collar and deaths associated with it.

FDA alert issued for these flea and tick products. Bravecto, Simparica,,Nexgard, Credelio and Simparica Trio.

The FDA issued an alert for these flea and tick products. They have told the manufacturers to label all packages with a warning. You can look at the alert via the link I’ve put at the bottom of the page. Sadly many veterinarians still sell these products.

The Seresto collar does not have an EPA alert but I’ve read the article I’ve put a link to here that tells about it being the cause of many deaths.

**PLEASE NOTE that if any of the products named on the FDA alert or the Seresto collar are used on puppies purchased from me that this will make NULL and VOID the health care guarantee I have for my puppies.

I have personally experienced one of my dogs having had 2 seizures the day he was given Credelio and know of others whose dogs had seizures after being given Nexgard and Bravecto. My Dozer had never had a seizure in all his 9 years until the day he was given Credelio and has never had any since so I’m sure the Credelio caused them.

I use and recommend the monthly topical K-9 Advantix II for flea and tick and mosquito control as it is very effective (more so than Frontline as the fleas haven’t mutated to build up a tolerance yet like they have with Frontline chemicals) and is safe enough to use on pregnant and nursing mothers. It works by the chemicals being spread through the hair follicles and not by getting into the bloodstream the way edible treatments like the ones the FDA issued the alert for. You can purchase this through Amazon.com, Chewy.com and 1-800-PetMeds.com.

🤔 True or False: Dogs have more taste buds than humans.

❌ False!
Humans actually dominate in the taste bud department. We have around 9,000 taste buds, while dogs only have about 1,700. That means your dog’s tasting power is roughly one-fifth of yours.

So no, your pup isn’t savoring every complex flavor note in that gourmet salmon kibble. He’s thinking, “Food! Again! YESSS!”

🐶 Bonus Fact:
While their taste buds may be fewer, dogs can taste sweet, sour, salty, bitter—and they even have a specific set of taste buds just for water. That’s right, they can actually “taste” water after heavy exercise or when they’re really thirsty. Hydration station? More like flavor station.

CoCo’s handsome 2 year old chocolate pup Knox with his sister (not related) Nova. His mom says Dad is proud of him and that he gets a lot of compliments on his pretty coat and eyes. He had a great annual check up at the vet and weighs 32 lbs. 😀❤️

“I only want a girl!”

If I had a treat for every time someone told me they were only interested in a female puppy… I’d be eating dinner out of a puzzle feeder.

Here’s the truth that most breeders know — and most puppy buyers don’t:

Male Cavaliers are often more affectionate, goofier, and easier to please than females.
Yes, really.

While people often assume girls are sweeter or easier to train, it’s usually the boys who are glued to your side, climbing into your lap like it’s their full-time job. They’re laid-back, loyal, and endlessly cuddly.

And the girls?
Also wonderful — but often more independent, opinionated, and (dare I say it?) a little bossy. We lovingly refer to them as the CEOs of the litter. They love their people, but usually on their own terms.

So why are females requested more often?

Because of some very common — and honestly, outdated — assumptions:
• That females are smaller, sweeter, and easier to train
• That males are dominant or territorial (when actually, unspayed females are often more so)
• That families need a girl dog to “match” their vibe or replace a beloved female they’ve lost

But here’s what experienced breeders will tell you:
• Males tend to be more consistently affectionate, tolerant, and eager to please
• Females are often a little sassier, more independent, and more likely to be territorial during hormonal shifts

So if you’re open-minded, here’s something to consider:
Your perfect puppy might not be the gender you expected.

And if you already know exactly what you want? That’s totally fine too.
Just thought it was worth saying out loud.
