Opened in 2006, Planet Pet had a simple goal, save animals. The little” Rescue Boutique” offers the community all your pets needs, from collars and leaches to top quality food and treats. But in a new and modern twist, Planet Pet offers the best in adoptable pets. Unlike traditional pet stores, our adoptable animals are all rescues. Our animals are all either owner surrenders or transfers from oth

er shelters. Since opening, Planet Pet has found homes for over 1,000 cats and dogs, this is just the beginning. This clever concept in the creation of Janet Hattlestad and Dr. Jeff Young , the proprietors of Planned Pethood Plus, Denver’s affordable quality care veterinary clinic. Since opening the clinic in 1990, the couple have made it their life’s work to help our four legged friends. In 2001, Dr. Young began Planned Pethood International, a non-profit dedicated to spay & neutering around the world. Every time a customer purchases from Planet Pet, a portion of the proceeds goes directly to saving animals and finding them good homes as well as spay/neuter projects. “Everyone has to buy pet supplies, why not put that money to a good cause.”

Planet Pet works with Best Pets and Planned Pethood Plus, in finding adoptable pets and making sure they are healthy and happy prospective adoptees. Each pet has been spayed or neutered, vaccinated, micro-chipped and given a clean bill of health (their first visit to the veterinarian is free). Our staff spends quality time with each of the animals and knows how to match the animal with the perfect home, we do our best because our animals deserve the best. You can find Planet Pet working with Best Pets holding mobile adopt-a-thons, or educating their neighbors at street fairs on the importance of pet nutrition. Planet Pet is one small business making a huge difference.

We would like to just remind everyone once more!
