Today we’re celebrating another amazing tech, Lindsey! Lindsey joined Animal Eye Care of New England in 2023, bringing with her a unique background that spans both human and veterinary medicine. After earning her degree from UNH and serving six years in the U.S. Army as a Medical Service Corps Officer, Lindsey transitioned into veterinary care; first in shelter medicine and later in emergency practice. Her calm, compassionate approach and dedication to every patient make her an invaluable part of our team. When she’s not at the clinic, Lindsey enjoys spin classes, knitting, and spending time with her family and flock of sheep. 🐑

This week is Veterinary Technician Appreciation Week, and we’re celebrating the incredible team that keeps Animal Eye Care of New England running smoothly every single day.

Our technicians are the heart of what we do. They assist in exams, care for patients before and after procedures, comfort nervous pets, communicate with clients, and make sure everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly. Their compassion, skill, and dedication make all the difference.

Throughout the week, we’ll be highlighting our amazing vet techs so you can get to know the faces (and hearts) behind the care. Be sure to follow along and help us show them the appreciation they deserve.

Tetra came in last week for her recheck, but let’s be honest , she was mostly here for the treats. Between offering a perfect paw shake and working the room with her charm, she reminded us all that confidence and snacks go hand in hand.

Her exam went beautifully, and left with a pocketful of fans.

Luna had her first visit with us last week and made herself right at home in the lobby, soaking up a little sunshine while she waited.

She was as sweet as can be and won over everyone she met. We’re so happy to welcome Luna to the Animal Eye Care family.

This fluffy little girl, Mac, is feeling much better after treatment for both an ocular and respiratory infection.

She was relaxed and comfortable during her visit, which is always a good sign that she’s on the road to recovery.

Gerti came in for her recheck for KCS (dry eye) and is doing really well!

This sweet girl was all eyes (literally!) during her visit; alert, curious, and making sure we knew she was ready for her exam.

Dry eye is something both dog and cat owners should keep an eye out for early signs can include redness, discharge, frequent blinking, or cloudy-looking eyes. Catching it early makes a huge difference in keeping pets comfortable and protecting their vision.

If you ever notice these symptoms in your furry friend, it’s best to schedule an exam as soon as possible. Early treatment goes a long way toward preventing long-term issues, just like it has for Gerti! 💙

Zeke came in for a recheck today - he previously had his right eye removed due to iris melanoma, and we’re happy to share that his remaining eye is doing great.

In the first photo, he’s mid-meow (probably giving us his opinion about disrupting his day). Such a handsome and brave boy!

Katie was back for her 4-month recheck and let’s just say the highlight of her visit was definitely the treat at the end.

She was so excited she showed off her best dance moves; proof that a little snack goes a long way!

The weekend is almost here, and just like our furry friends, we know how important it is to take time to rest your eyes.

Whether you’re heading out for a long walk, curling up for a nap, or simply enjoying some fresh air, remember that healthy eyes help us all enjoy the little things, like seeing those wagging tails and happy faces a little clearer.

Wishing everyone a safe, happy weekend from all of us at Animal Eye Care of New England!
