He’s a sweet well behaved boy.
Sadly his current owners are moving to Florida and can’t bring pets to their new home.

Whisky is gentle and loving. He would do best in a calm , caring home.

Twisted stomachs, broken hearts🐾💔
Most people think “bloat” just means gas buildup, but gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV) is much more serious. In GDV, the stomach fills with gas and twists, cutting off blood flow and putting dangerous pressure on vital organs. Without immediate treatment, it can be fatal.

🐾 What dogs are highest risk? Large, deep-chested breeds are the most vulnerable. Neutered males are at slightly higher risk.

📌 What Research Shows:
-Dogs that eat quickly or swallow a lot of air face a significantly higher risk
-Split daily calories into two meals instead of one large meal for at-risk dogs — it lowers GDV risk.
Diet matters:
– Dogs fed ultra-processed kibble, especially those with seed oils listed among the first four ingredients, face a higher risk.
– Kibble pieces smaller than 30mm also increase risk.
– Feeding meat-based diets with larger chunks (>30mm) can lower risk.
-Avoid exercise and large amounts of water immediately before or after meals.
-Dogs with anxious, fearful, or high-stress temperaments have a higher likelihood of GDV.

⏱️ Every Second Counts
If you suspect GDV, go to the vet immediately. With rapid surgical intervention, survival rates reach up to 80%, but waiting can be deadly.
Your awareness and quick action can save your dog’s life. ❤️

💬 I just posted my latest free article, including my top tips for preventing GDV, comment ⬇️ and I’ll send you a direct link to keep reading.

Povidone Iodine—Nature’s Antimicrobial Solution🌱🦠🐾

If paws are bleeding🩸, have sores, or trauma from licking, I recommend using povidone iodine (Betadine™)—a safe, nontoxic solution that’s antifungal (for yeast and dermatophytes ), antibacterial (even against resistant infections ), doesn’t sting, and promotes wound healing .

If the paws are inflamed or have open sores or abrasions, soak them longer, ideally 2 to 5 minutes. This helps effectively address potential sources of infection, reducing the need for oral antibiotics or other drugs.

There's also a 25+ page "SUMMER ITCH GUIDE" filled with paw soaks, ear cleaners, hotspot remedies, and natural ear infection protocols available to download NOW in the Inside Scoop group!

Heat, moisture, and allergens create the perfect storm for itching, licking, and inflammation.👅🔥 Paws are often the first point of contact with allergens, irritants, and moisture ☀️🌳🏖️ - all of which can contribute to or worsen issues like environmental allergies, yeast overgrowth, parasites, and bacterial infections.

On Sunday's episode of the Inside Scoop, we broke down what’s behind these frustrating issues — and exactly how to prevent and treat them using safe, natural remedies for irritated paws, inflamed ears, and chronic skin problems.

Before and after Rosie’s 1st big girl haircut ❤️

Sometimes in rescue, everything just feels like too much. Too much money. Too much responsibility. Too much worry.

It can feel suffocating more often than not..

This dog has double ear infections. That cat needs a dental. This dog has a broken leg. That rabbit has an eye infection.

How are we going to afford it all? How are we going to give these animals the care they need while somehow ensuring that we have enough to take care of the animals that come in tomorrow, next week, next month?

It all feels like a little too much sometimes.

And then something like this happens and people like the ones over at Stateline Subaru come along and suddenly it's easier to breathe because we know the animals are taken care of and we can give them whatever they need.

Forty thousand dollars. Forty. Thousand. Dollars.

Thank you, thank you, thank you ♥️ When we say we couldn't do this without you, without ANY of you, we mean it from the bottom of our hearts.

We'll never be able to put into words that can adequately express just how grateful we are for you and just how much this means to us.

Thank you, Stateline Subaru 💕 For everything.

WHAT YOU DON'T SEE AT THE DOG GROOMERS.......
You dropped your dog off at the salon and picked them up few hours later - fluffy, fresh, and happy. But what you saw was just the tip of the iceberg.

You didn’t see your groomer arrive early to open up the salon, disinfect tools, lay out fresh towels, and check the day’s appointments. You didn’t see them look over your dog from nose to tail before even lifting a brush - checking the coat condition, skin, eyes, ears, nails, and weight.

You didn’t see the careful way they clipped around a wriggly paw, or how they paused to let your dog calm down during the bath. You didn’t notice the matting hidden beneath your dog’s topcoat, or the way the groomer worked slowly to avoid hurting the skin beneath it.

You weren’t there when they spotted a red patch of irritated skin, or a small lump you hadn’t noticed. You heard them gently mention it to you at collection - not to worry you, but because they genuinely care about your dog’s wellbeing.

And after you left, you didn’t see the clean-down , the floor swept, tables cleaned, blades oiled, messages replied to, notes written up for your next visit, and laundry on again.

All of that… for a price that’s often lower than what you’d pay for your own haircut. And your hairdresser?
They don’t have to bathe you, clip your nails, or hold you still while you try to bite the brush.

The truth is ……. dog grooming is so much more than a haircut.

It’s about health, hygiene, comfort, and trust. It’s about knowing dog anatomy, coat types, skin conditions, behaviour management, handling skills, and safe sc******ng techniques. It’s a profession that takes training, practice, and patience.
Most groomers got into this work because they love dogs. But that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be paid fairly for the physical, emotional, and skilled work they do every single day.

If your dog leaves their groomer happy, healthy and looking good - it’s not by luck. It’s because you have got a good groomer.
So next time, take a moment to thank them. Leave a review.

Tip them if you can. And above all - don’t undervalue them.
They’re doing far more than just washing the dog.

DAMNED IF YOU DO AND DAMNED IF YOU DON'T 💦🐕🛋️🛏️🤰🏻

Pesticide💦 exposure in and around homes raises long-term health concerns, especially for children. It has been linked to chronic conditions such as cancers, diabetes, reproductive and neurological disorders, and birth defects. These risks extend to veterinary health as well.

Spot-ons💦 like Fipronil & imidacloprid are highly toxic pesticides⚠️ that are no longer approved for use in outdoor agriculture but continue to be widely used in pet flea treatments, typically applied to the back of the pet’s neck (known as spot-ons) and used in poison baits for ants🐜 and cockroaches.

Studies show that households with pets treated for fleas and ticks may increase pesticide exposure in humans, particularly children👧, through direct contact or contaminated dust.

One study found that Fipronil can transfer from mother to unborn baby via the placenta, and exposure to fipronil’s toxic breakdown product, fipronil sulfone, during pregnancy🤰🏻 has been associated with reduced thyroid function in newborn babies as well as lower Apgar scores, a score used to test the health of a newborn.

Last week, our expert panel shared the chemical preventive options they would recommend if they had to choose just one. We also discussed how to safely integrate these treatments along with testing methods and detox protocols to keep your pet healthy and protected.

This week, we’ll explore how balancing your dog’s internal health—through the skin, liver, kidneys, gut, and immune system—can create a more flea/tick-resistant environment. You’ll learn how specific herbs and essential oils can support organ health and help naturally defend against fleas and ticks. Plus, we’ll share practical tips, recipes, and dosage guidelines for both internal and external herbal remedies.

Join our new panel of experts this Sunday on the Inside Scoop as they share expert insights on preventing flea and tick infestations while boosting your pet’s overall health.

In this episode we're covering:

🦟 Why some dogs attract fleas more than others

🦟 Herbs that support organ health

🦟 Essential oils for flea and tick prevention

🦟 PLUS: Download our episode guide with recipes for herbal rinses, infusions, sprays, a DIY flea powder, and much more!

Be sure to join us Sunday at 12pm EST for expert advice from our panel and remember over the next several weeks, we’ll continue bringing in expert insights on different aspects of flea and tick prevention!
