Join us at Bark at the Bank with MVB on May 19th from 11 AM – 5 PM at MVB Bank in Suncrest! 🐾💙

While we will not have adoptable animals onsite, we’ll still have plenty of ways for you to support the shelter and learn more about what we do! Stop by to:
🐶 Learn about volunteering opportunities
🐱 Browse our binder of adoptable pets currently looking for homes
🐾 Meet local pet-related vendors and organizations
🍔 Grab some food and treats from participating vendors

We’ll also be collecting donations to help feed our shelter pets. Anyone who donates $5 or more can sign a pawprint with their name or a special message that will be displayed around the shelter to show community support! 🐾

We are incredibly thankful for all of the food donations we’ve received from the community. To help keep our pets on consistent diets that work best for them, we feed a specific brand/type of food at the shelter, so monetary donations from this event will go directly toward purchasing food for our shelter pets. ❤️

We hope to see you there and appreciate everyone who continues to support the animals in our care!

🐾It’s our turn to host the pet food giveaway for families in need! 🐾

We are partnering up again with our friends at the Mon County Canine Adoption Center for another pet food giveaway! 🥳

A simple bag of food doesn’t only help out families who may be in a pinch. Many times this also helps keep our furry friends out of the shelters, and in their homes.🏠

But while gathering information on the exact details for the distribution, we realized that our stock is low. So we will be looking to collect donations of cat and dog food to build our supply back up! 🆘

We should be announcing the exact details of the next event this week! If you would like to give back, now is the time to donate! We are in need of unopened bags that are not expired. No specific brand, or size!

‼️Pet Food Giveaway – FAQ‼️

We’re excited for our upcoming giveaway and have been getting some great questions! Here’s everything you need to know:

❓ Do you need to have an ID?
No — just let us know your name, address (if applicable), and how many pets you have.

❓ Do you have to be a Monongalia County resident?
No — everyone is welcome.

❓ What if I feed feral cats?
You are welcome to come and grab a bag of cat food, as long as supplies last.

❓ What if I can’t carry the food to my car?
No problem! We will have staff and volunteers available to help carry food to your vehicle.

❓ How much food can we get?
Each household will receive 1 bag of food. We will distribute larger bags first, and smaller bags as needed.

🐾 Meet Nala 🐾
Please share in hopes of finding this girl her forever home!

Nala is a 7-year-old Lab/Rottie mix with a heart as big as her 75-pound frame. This sweet, easygoing girl is all about the simple joys in life—belly rubs, bird watching from the porch, and cruising with her head out the car window.

She’s fantastic with people of all ages, including young kids, and quickly becomes a loyal “shadow” to her favorite humans. Nala is house-trained, walks nicely on a leash, and has great manners in the home. She’ll even tuck herself into her crate for a cozy nap and sleep soundly through the night.

Nala would thrive as the only dog in the home where she can soak up all the love and attention. She may do okay with a calm, laid-back female dog her size, but she’s happiest keeping her circle small and stress-free.

Despite a little stiffness from arthritis, Nala doesn’t let it slow her down—she’s still happy to explore the yard, enjoy enrichment treats, and be right by your side.

If you’re looking for a loyal companion who will adore you endlessly and fit right into family life, Nala might be your perfect match.
