Yes...she seems adorable, BUT...
We'd like to introduce you to one of the Dark Side's Minions. This is Baby Mae and she's a terrorist. We're doing all we can to curb her villainous antics, but...we might be losing this battle! 😆
We're getting to know our little MaeMae since her arrival and she's introducing us to levels of Puppy Care that we've never experienced before in nearly 50 yrs with the breed, God bless her!!!
Mae loves to sleep upside down with all her death claws pointing straight up in the air. When she wakes, the entire household is put on alert because... Lordy, she's coming!!! This girl has more personality than any dog should have. She's constantly loaded for fire!!! Here at Libre, we breed specifically for CALM, LOW KEY dogs with LOW DRIVE...this is not MaeMae!!! It's obvious she didn't come from our breed program. When she's not rifling off with the zoomies, she's climbing up everything...furniture, humans...other dogs. She found out quickly that attempting to climb up on and dominate our ruling Queen, Kitt Kat, was a really, really BAD idea!!! Our other Queen, B-Bear, simply ignores her as best she can and when it gets to be too much, Bear just sits on her...hilarious! Nobody told Mae she wasn't supposed to be a firecracker loaded with explosives that go off every two seconds, soooo, here we are!
We acquired our "Machine Gun Mae" to add phenomenal show lines and unique beauty to our little Aussie tribe, but...Lordy!!! This girl is ..a LOT!!! 🫣
We'll see how life with Mae progresses, but we're pretty sure there's NEVER gonna be a dull moment with this kid in our midst, and we're praying Kitt doesn't kill her before she reaches 6 months old. Mae is currently spending nights (at bedtime) kenneled with our boy, Doc, because he's the kindest, sweetest, most tolerant and quiet of our crew (our gentle giant) and he's the only one willing to put up with Mae. Lordy, we thought Kitt was dominant when she arrived at the ranch...this li'l tidbit is proving to be a LOT more than any of us EVER expected!
Though not all breeders utilize Volhard Puppy Testing to evaluate puppy personalities to ensure proper placement of their pups, it's truly one of the most valuable tools available to mankind, and we here at Libre will ALWAYS test our babies to ensure our pups find their happily ever afters and go to homes that match their unique characteristics!!! To us, it's an essential part of ensuring a happy life for our pups and the folks they're matched with!!!
Now, you'll excuse us while we go drop a few Xanax and some ADHD meds into Mae's water bowl while she's still sleeping, claws straight up!!! 😏
(Mae is exceptionally bred from the show lines of Thornapple & Bayshore~ bloodlines we absolutely love & admire plus a few more lines that we've long wanted in our midst! God bless our little pistol! She's truly something special! ❤️🐾❤️)
