As some of you may have heard, one of our fellow veterinary clinics is closing its boarding facility as of July 6th. This is a hit for the community, as we know many of our clients also use their facility.
We do offer boarding services here at our facility to both our veterinary clients and non-clients who need to board. We have several different types of kennels/runs and even have cat condos.
Although we do not have overnight care, our dogs are walked every 2-3 hours during business hours, and their last walk is done as late as possible to allow them to toilet before the night.
Our staff is Fear-Free trained and aware of the many signs of anxiety and stress in a pet. Staff will implement calming techniques such as pheromone diffusers, calming music, fan noise, and even privacy curtains for pets who don’t like to see other pets. If further calming is needed, they will contact the owner for permission for an evaluation by one of our doctors, who may recommend an anxiety medication or other calming tool to help reduce the stress and anxiety associated with boarding.
Contact our office to find out pricing and what vaccines and tests are required to board at our facility, or to schedule a tour of the facility with Ariel, our Kennel Manager.
Attached below is a breakdown of the types of kennels we have, along with some photos of our kennel manager's pup, Copper. He is around 15 pounds for reference.
For our smaller dogs under 15lbs, we have a small kennel which is a metal kennel with metal bar doors and which measures 2’ 4” inches deep, 21” wide and 2’ 4” inches tall.
Our next size up is a large kennel for dogs under 30lbs and is also a metal kennel with metal bar doors and measures 2’ 4” deep, 3’ 9” wide, and 2’ 4” tall.
For dogs over 30 pounds, we have 3 different types of runs, which have plastic walls, glass, and metal doors. The first run is 4’ x 6’ and can accommodate just about any size dog except the giant breeds.
The next size is a 6’ x 8’ and can accommodate all-size dogs with plenty of room to spare.
We also have a special divided run that has a door between (2) 4’ x 6’ kennels so that pets that want to board together but need to be separated to feed or sleep can be together when appropriate.
