Snowy is a sweet and affectionate guy who was surrendered to the shelter after his owner passed away. He’s friendly, lovable, and ready to find his new forever family. Snowy could use a little help shedding some extra pounds, but with some love, attention, and playtime, he’s sure to get back on track. Turn your sound up to hear Norma’s post-bottle feeding purrs!

Norma was brought in with her brother at only a day old after mom was found deceased. Both were very cold and likely didn’t get much chance to interact or nurse from poor mom. She’s been dealing with an infection and limb swelling but thanks to the dedication of her foster (feline coordinator Amanda) and our medical team, she’s now two weeks old and starting to look more like a kitten!

Join us Saturday, April 5th to learn more about how we care for kittens such as Norma. Amanda may even be able to do a bottle feeding demonstration!

And don’t forget: bring an item to donate from our Kitten Registry to be entered in a special raffle.

Our Off-site Adoptions Team needs help transporting cats to our PetSmart partners this week. You will pick up the cats and/or small animals from the shelter, transport them in your own car, help the staff at the store unload the animals into kennels, and then return the carriers to the shelter.

Female dogs
5-40lbs = $275
41-80lbs = $350

Male dogs
5-40lbs = $250

Surgery prices include: surgery, rabies and distemper vaccine (if needed), ear tip (if needed) and microchip (required)

In order to help these sweet souls we need fosters to open their homes.

Calling all Vendors:

The Humane Society of Carroll County is hosting its 9th Annual Woofstock fundraiser on June 21st, 2025, at Taneytown Memorial Park from 10am-3pm.

Vendor registration is currently open.

We are looking for food trucks, craft and direct sale vendors, community groups, entertainment vendors (balloon artists, face painters, etc.), animal rescues, animal related services, local businesses, etc. It does not need to be animal related.

10x10 spots are $35. Fee is waived for nonprofits.
