Little Boo has been a long time client of ours and is currently staying with us until her mom recovers from a stroke she endured 😞. It’s been a little over a week since she’s been in our care. When her family (from Jersey) reached out to us we knew right away that we needed to take this little girl in and help the best we possibly could. I knew it would give her mom the best chance at recovery knowing Little Boo is safe and comfortable with me and my crew. However, I noticed something wasn’t right when I brought her into my home 🏡 . She was going potty inside the house (frequently), had no eating schedule/low appetite and didn’t seem to have much energy. We knew that her mom was struggling to get her outside as often as needed due to her medical ailments. I also knew if Boo was trying to hold it longer that this could lead to an infection. I rearranged my schedule so we could take her to the vet that day! After testing, they found crystals in her urine. Had I not taken her to the vet it may have progressed to stones. I saved Little Boo from a lot of pain. I also saved her mom from an expensive vet bill. I’m sharing this story to explain the importance of hiring a professional to care for your pets when you can’t or while you’re away. I’d also like to point out how important is is to let your dogs out to go potty as often as possible! Hiring a pet sitter to do midday drop-in visits while you’re at work is something every owner should consider! Many would have thought Little Boo simply wasn’t potty trained and would continue cleaning up the messes. Some might have thought she was acting out because she was in a new environment or “upset” about the change. Others might have thought she didn’t like her kibble and needed to switch foods. Someone who’s worked in the field and has had proper training would know that you always need to rule out medical issues before correcting them as behavioral. It’s not always what you see, but what you’re trained to look for that can make all the difference in your pets well being. Know that you’re in trustworthy hands when you’re in our care!
Little Boo has made so much progress since seeing the vet and getting her medication to resolve these issues! We are now able to move on to behavioral correction.
