Training doesn’t end when the lesson ends.

After today’s session with Cherry, we spent a few quiet minutes in the courtyard doing absolutely… nothing.

Why? Because learning isn’t just about repetition—it’s also about allowing the dog’s mind to decompress and process what was just taught. For many dogs, especially those who are energetic or easily overstimulated, calmness is a skill that must be practiced.

Cherry did an excellent job settling into place, observing the world without reacting, and learning that she doesn’t have to engage with everything around her. That’s where real confidence is built.

Training isn’t about exhausting your dog—it’s about teaching them how to think, relax, and make better decisions.

A calm dog isn’t born. A calm dog is trained.
