Last, but definitely not least of our Office introductions is Dr. Terri Jones!

Dr. Terri Jones has been a partner in Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel Services since 1996, when it was known as Ohio Veterinary Relief Service. Terri has worked in over 125 practices throughout the state of Ohio as a relief veterinarian, and has been involved in recruiting, hiring, and training new Lighthouse relief veterinarians and managing the Permanent Placement Program, and countless tasks involved in
managing a small business like Lighthouse.

Terri has a long history of participation in veterinary organizations, serving in the past on the boards of the Cincinnati VMA, the Clermont County VMA, the Columbus Academy of Veterinary Medicine, the OSU Veterinary Alumni Society, and the Ohio VMA. Terri’s other hobbies are gardening and hiking. She resides in Westerville with her cat Juniper and her Scottish terrier Fergus."

Next, meet Dr. Sarah Hayslip! Sarah has been the engine that keeps Lighthouse running smoothly and fountain of knowledge for the managers and associates she has trained. We are super grateful for all that she does!

"I began my career with Lighthouse way back in 2002, and since then, I have worn many different hats including regional representative, Director of Marketing, and Director of Operations. In 2016, I became a partner, gradually focusing more time on the financial side of the business.

People are usually surprised to learn that veterinary medicine is actually my second
career! I graduated from Miami University with a BFA in printmaking and minors in
business and art history. After working several years for a large retail corporation, I
returned to college at Ohio State to work toward my veterinary degree. After
graduating, I returned to my hometown in northcentral Ohio to join a mixed practice
where I enjoyed focusing on reproductive medicine and surgery.

The best part about my years as a relief vet? Definitely the friends I made all over Ohio and Kentucky! It was like having a huge extended family."

Next up for introductions is Dr. Erin! You may have met her during her travel days and now she is starting to help Kelly in the office with recruiting, hiring, marketing and personnel management. She also currently runs our social media (and feels weird writing about herself in 3rd person).
"Hi! I am Dr. Erin Ferris and I’ve been with Lighthouse since December of 2020. I started as a "floater" working across our entire territory, then transitioned into management this year. Prior to Lighthouse, I worked at a chimpanzee sanctuary, did a specialty medicine internship, worked in pharmacology and pet food research, and did a short stint in shelter med. I live in central Ohio with my toy poodle mix, my long haired diva cat and my dobie mix as well as my 19 year old corn snake. I am a traveler, an outdoor adventurer and a little bit of an adrenaline ju**ie. If you are looking for me at an event or in the clinics, I am the one with funky colored hair"

Another friendly face many of you know or have spoken to is Dr. Kelly!

"I’m Dr. Kelly Kirby, a 2006 grad of The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine and I started my career with a love for equine medicine but the desire to move back to Columbus led me to find my passion in small animal medicine and more importantly in the people who make our profession special. I’ve been with Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel Services for 13 years now, and what I’ve come to value most is the sense of community in this field. Relief work gave me the chance to meet an incredible range of veterinarians, technicians, and support staff—all working hard to keep clinics going and pets healthy. Now, as a Manager, I am grateful to support that community from a new perspective, helping connect great people with great practices ensuring everyone feels seen, supported, and set up for success. In my free time, I love to read, spend time with my animals and I love outdoor adventures while traveling with my husband."

Our next "Lady behind the Curtain" at Lighthouse is Cathy!

My name is Cathy Winebrenner, and I work for Lighthouse Veterinary Personnel Services as Manager of Information Systems with experience that spans over 43 years. I am an accomplished programmer and enjoy using my skills to contribute to the exciting advances in technology. My duties also include bookkeeping and payroll. In my free time, I enjoy gardening in my greenhouse that I designed and built, activities with my grandchildren and at my ever-expanding side hustle of picking for others.
