Summer isn't the only thing in full *swing*. Our annual golf scramble Puttin' Fore Paws tees off once again on Monday, August 10th for a day of fun and fundraising. We have limited space available for teams, so don't miss your chance to sign up!

This year Puttin' Fore Paws will be held for the first time at the beautiful Dunegrass Golf Club in Old Orchard Beach. Registration includes cart and greens fees, breakfast and lunch, and an awards reception. We'll have fun contests on the course as well!

We also have sponsorship opportunities available, whether you want to take center stage as the presenting sponsor or roll your team up into a team + hole sponsor combo. Every dollar raised supports our shelter pets!

Benedict is a simple man. He enjoys a cozy room, a spot to keep an eye on the shelter activity, and a good squeezable treat. Who are we to deny him what he wants?

Benedict is 4 years old and is a busy cat looking for a family that can keep up with him. He takes his job in quality control here at the shelter very seriously, even if no one can remember giving it to him.

He's just another one of our VIPs—our Very Important Pets! Thanks to our community partner VIP Tires & Service for partnering with us each month to spoil our pets in the way they deserve. Benedict is available for adoption right now so come and meet him!

Meet sweet Angie, our new Animal Refuge League of Greater Portland dog. Angie enjoys everyone she meets and loves to go for walks around the Inn grounds. At 9 years of age, this adorable Maltese Mix has developed a charming charchter. Angie will be at the Inn for a while before she is ready for adoption- come on by and meet this cute, gentle pup!

Looking for a forever fetch partner and cuddle bug? The only thing bigger than Zoey's ears is her heart, and she'd love to give it to you!

Zoey is an athlete in training who loves tennis balls, and clearly isn't shy about making that known. She's had an excellent time in her foster home getting plenty of exercise and curling up on the couch after. Dedicated athletes know the importance of rest and recovery.

Zoey would like to meet any potential human or canine siblings here at the shelter, but she's not always a fan of rough-and-tumble play and sometimes prefers to keep her tennis balls to herself.

Do you remember Boo, our beloved white, deaf pittie? Well allow us to introduce you to Baby Boo—no relation, but a lot in common!

Baby Boo is a 3-month-old puppy who is, you guessed it, also deaf. Baby Boo is already learning to respond to visual cues and hand signs just like her namesake, with the addition of a little extra puppy energy. What her ears lack in hearing they make up for in personality.

Adopting a puppy is enough work for many as it is. Our counselors will be happy to discuss what training looks like for a puppy like Baby Boo so everyone is set up for success.

People keep asking what Bella's secrets are to looking this gorgeous at 12 years old. Her claim? Naps, belly rubs, and all of your attention. We'll take her word for it.

Sweet Bella is looking to spend her golden years sharing all of her love with a family who will treat her like a queen. She'd prefer to be the only pet in her new home, as attention is a key part of her anti-aging routine.

Meet Frisbee, a smart and playful girl who knows how to work the camera! True to her name, Frisbee loves an active adventure — a long walk in the woods, a romp in the yard, or a good sniffari.

Frisbee has loved frolicking with other dogs here at the shelter, so bring any canine family members with you for a meet and greet. She tends to get very excited during playtime, so we recommend kids ages 6 and up who can handle her enthusiasm.

Wiseman was one of four adorable puppies we named after NASA's Artemis II lunar crew. Now he's blasted off from the shelter and landed himself in his new home! He seems to be getting along well with his new crew mates, including his foster sister Chanel, who was just adopted this week. We're checking in on him and his new family in this month's Evergreen Credit Union Happy Tails!

"Wiseman—now Carl—is a typical and perfect little puppy. We love him so much," his new mom Marni told us. "He comes to pick the kids up from school every day, and is very popular among the third grade class at Maine Coast Waldorf School, and he seems to love being popular! He’s truly the best. His personality, energy level, and temperament is as expected, for now—he’ll surely develop, and we are ready for that too!"
