What a day at the Wishing Tree Horse Show! 🌳🐴

From the first class to the last, our riders kept us busy all day long. There were ribbons, smiles, learning moments, confidence boosts, and plenty of horse show memories made along the way.

We're so proud of our riders for stepping into the ring, trying new things, supporting one another, and continuing to grow as horsemen and horsewomen. And our horses? They showed up and did their jobs beautifully. ❤️

As always, horse shows remind us that success isn't just about placings—it's about the lessons learned, the goals achieved, and the fun had along the way.

Now, about this whole trailer situation... 🤔

At some point we're going to need a semi. But at this point we will have to settle for a convoy. We seem to have reached the stage of program growth where we have more horses and riders wanting to go than trailer spots available. If anyone has a spare horse trailer sitting around collecting dust, we have a few riders who would like a word. 😂

Larkspur, Colorado isn't exactly a hotbed of eventing. But sometimes all it takes is one person saying "well, you just go do it" and a beginner's luck ribbon that keeps you coming back for many more years.

That's the origin story of Laura Backus, founder of Pendragon Stud Equestrian Center, who built a full eventing program on 78 acres an hour outside of Denver.

Her story is a reminder that the sport doesn't only live in Aiken or Ocala -- it lives wherever someone decides to plant a flag and build a community.

What a fun afternoon at our Adult Craft & Ride at Tally Ho! 💜🐴🎨
We spent the time breaking plates and cresting ceramic mosaic picture frames and trays, riding with friends, laughing way too much, and finishing the afternoon with mounted games that brought out everyone’s competitive side 😄
There’s just something special about horses, creativity, and good company all together in one place. We’re so thankful for this wonderful group of ladies who came out to relax, connect, and make memories at the farm.
Already looking forward to the next one ✨

Yesterday did not go quite as planned at Tally Ho.

What was supposed to be a trip to the beautiful Devon Horse Show — Asher’s final Leadline year, dressed to the hilts as a huntsman — turned into trailer light and brake issues about an hour from home at 2 a.m.

By the grace of God, everyone made it home safely, and for that, there is so much to be thankful for.

But perhaps the most special part of the day came back at the farm. When the riders heard that the trip to Devon had been cut short, they immediately stepped in to create a little “Devon at Home” for Asher. Ellesmera Heart of Dixie was tacked up still beautifully braided (thank you, Kenzie Perkins 💘), along with several of the riders’ own mounts, and the group paraded around the arena with Asher proudly leading the way as huntsman. There may have even been a little horn blowing involved.

Moments like this are a reminder that while plans do not always unfold the way we expect, there is still so much good to be found in the people around us. The kindness, maturity, and heart shown by these young riders turned a disappointing night into a memory that will not soon be forgotten.

Tally Ho is incredibly blessed by the horses, families, and young horsemen and horsewomen who make this community what it is.

God is good. 🤍
