‼️Tips for when your parrot screams‼️
One of the common reasons why parrots are surrendered is because they can be very vocal. So, to help them be a little more quiet, though parrots will always be vocal since they are parrots. Here are some tips to help you.
1. Enrichment! Parrots are very smart and have lots of energy, they love being kept busy with toys, foraging or even a puzzle toy. Your parrot could be screaming since it's sooooo bored.
2. Positive reinforcement whenever your parrot is quiet. They will quickly learn that if they're quiet, they get their favorites nut/fruit/veggie
3. Adequate sleep duration. Parrots need to be sleeping a good 10-12 hours each night and if they don't, you will see that they get quite grumpy and vocal during the day
4. Medical issues. Sometimes the screaming is there for a reason, your parrot might be sick or sore and maybe needs to visit the vet. That's why we recommend that you take your parrot to teh vet every 3 months.
