FYI there are two types known to cause the "red meat" tick borne disease now...

NOT JUST LONE STAR TICKS--TWO NEW STUDIES!

Two new, ground-breaking studies have documented--for the first time-- cases of alpha-gal syndrome caused by:

• Blacked legged ticks (Ixodes scapularis) and
• Western black-legged ticks (Ixodes pacifica)

Previously, there were anecdotal reports of this, but no documented cases.

This adds to the growing list of ticks around the world that can cause AGS and, for the first time, provides solid, preliminary evidence that ticks other than lone star ticks are causing AGS in the U.S.
