Every month we will showcase a different cat of the Best of British cattery! April is none other than our "big-bird" - Devon ! We caught up with Devon for an exclusive interview between her modeling sessions at Second Shot Photography and her showing schedule. Here's what she had to say:
Reporter: "Devon, thanks for taking time out of your busy schedule to give me a few words. So, Devon, I believe congratulations are in order as you recently received your TICA Champion Title for the showing season 2024-2025. How did you feel when you got the news?"
Devon: "Well darling, I was frankly quite speechless. I had just finished my morning snack of raw treats and greenies (my cheeky weekend indulgence) when the female-hooman came bursting into my quarters squawking something about a 'title'. At first I thought the female-hooman had finally gone mad, but then when she made a bee-line for me and scooped me up and swung me around the room and started to kiss me, I realized I had achieved something special....... would you pass me another greenie darling, thanks awfully."
Reporter: "Erm, yes of course. So what have you been filling your time with when you've not been showing? I can imagine a lady of your status and class would be inundated with modeling requests."
Devon: "Well, not that much, actually darling. Don't get me wrong, they HAVE been beating down my door all year long, but being a lady of a certain class, I'm not 'on hire' for just anyone. I've been waiting for the right opportunity to come along."
Reporter: "I can understand that. It must be quite a struggle to stay in such great shape and ensure those extra calories from the Greenies don't weigh heavy on your frame. How do you keep in shape?"
Devon: "Darling, they don't call me 'big-bird' for nothing. The boys prefer their woman with some love-handles and I have a standard to uphold. My daily regime consists of zoomies twice a day (I can lap the cat room twice within 30 seconds) and playtime with Brecon a few times. The other two girls are quite the bore, and don't like to play as rough as I like."
Reporter: Well, thanks for taking time out of your hectic schedule.
Stay tuned next month for our exclusive interview with Ballymena - aka scaredy-cat.
