Story time and some well deserved recognition! Due to a delayed inbound flight on another airline, my connection time to a Breeze Airways flight was cut short. I got in the TSA line. I have Precheck, but the line wasn’t moving. Flight starts to board and 5min later, final boarding is called. There is still 20min left before the door is scheduled to close and 35min before scheduled departure time. Finally get through TSA with 10min to spare before door closing but my bag was pulled for additional screening. I peek around the corner to see the door to the gate already closed. While not advisable, I left my bag and ran to the gate to tell the agent I was there, just waiting for my bag. I was the only one they were missing. She said once the doors are closed that’s it but would give me 5min while she went to talk to the captain. I ran back to TSA. The captain sent an agent to the TSA checkpoint to prioritize my bag and held the flight for 10min. I was able to board and the flight still left 10min early. Moral of the story, while I was technically still within boarding parameters, I was not rude, mean, hostile, etc like you see when others miss their flight. This is usually why gate agents don’t attempt and won’t reopen the flight. Kindness goes a long way and is often returned when given. Thank you Breeze Airways!!!!!
