PSA!!!!!!:
I am usually skeptical about adult frenchies traveling in a carrier. Most aren’t used to small confines and have the tendency to scare themselves into shock. A lot of other transporters’ demise is because they don’t know the signs or what to listen for, they put on their headphones, go to sleep, and the dog is literally scaring itself to death. I take no chances. I arrived to the airport 2hrs early, gave the dog the max dose of Benadryl, and had several water bottles ready to go. We got used to each other and he enjoyed my famous scratches/petting. 6hr flight, I watched no movies, no music, no sleep or nap, kept the coffee coming. The dog’s health and safety are more important than the newest Clooney movie. Panting is normal, but the second it becomes deep/raspy, you need to act immediately or the dog will stop breathing. Thankfully, this did not occur and we made it safe and sound, but I was ready if it did.
