Stelly had surgery on April 23, and was officially diagnosed in early June. We thought we would have at least 3 months, but her cancer was aggressive and cruel and in just a few short weeks we had to say goodbye. On the morning of July 4th we let her go. The weeks before her passing were filled with gourmet meals and mountains of toys and treats and all the love we have for her always. There’s a griffadoodle shaped hole in our hearts, but no doubt you’re tearing it up out there with a pack of dogs and short-tailed horses. Love you forever Stella Bells. 💙💙💙

A break from pony posts. In case you were wondering what Ryan does when he’s not repairing things around here, he’s one of the badass pilots who puts out fires all over the world. He’s working hard in California this week and gives me a call or a text every time he saves horses. Just a few glamor shots of the hero at work. Sorry, , but only a little. We brought you home when you were 3 months old and I was 3 months pregnant with Riley. Everybody said we were crazy to bring home a puppy right before having a baby, but the second we saw you we knew there could be no other way. Pilot, thank you for giving us 16 years, for raising us, for raising our babies, for being so naughty and adorable and grumpy and loving us so well. Life won’t be the same without you, Mogwai. Sweet Carter Bear, we’re 5 days without you. It wasn’t expected, it was very fast, and we’re just now letting our shoulders drop and our breath go. We all know that you missed Buster too much to be here long without him, and we’re so glad you’re bossing him around again with the people and horses that beat you there. Thank you for all of your love and smiles for cookies. We miss you terribly. We love you, and our hearts are with you.

Four days after Anluan passed in January 2023, we woke up to a beautiful painted sky. Now, four days after Dusty, his little brother, has passed, we are greeted with another stunningly beautiful sunrise. I choose to believe they’re letting us know that they’re happy. **Admiration Post!!**Just the other day a badass friend was here at the barn and she looked at me and said, “you’ve done it, you’re doing it, look at how far you’ve come!” And it was everything I needed to rise and grind another day. Those moments of support and recognition keep me fueled in an industry that can easily chew you up and spit you out.
