Ground manners first.
Horses establish their hierarchy by setting physical boundaries. They are not very aware of their own weight or size. Soft or missing boundaries on the ground turn into accidents and habits that are hard to fix later.
Clear rules from the start keep both horse and rider safe.

Horsemanship is about sharing, not shaming.
The biggest problem in our industry right now isn’t bad riding — it’s people tearing down others for simply showing up.
We compare intermediate riders and everyday horses to the top levels and expensive horses, and call it “education.” That’s not education. That’s gatekeeping.
Everyone is learning. Everyone is on their own path. And everyone deserves to share what they love without being mocked for it.
So here’s the challenge:
Post your horse. Post your progress. Post the messy, the imperfect, the real.
Tag someone who needs to hear this. Let’s make kindness the standard, not the exception.
