We have been having a hard time sharing this news because it means we will no longer be posting updates from Charlie’s family. Charlie lost her battle recently & left this world surrounded by her loved ones. We will miss her forever. Thank you to her family for loving Charlie & giving her the best life ever. Final update: Thank you so much everyone for helping Shadow. Yesterday he left peacefully surrounded by his family. We raised enough with all your donations so that he could be cremated privately and his cremains will be returned to his family in about a week’s time. Thank you all again so very much 🙏🏻♥️🐾. Shadow is a senior fella who is at the end of his life. His mom, who lives in West Haven, has fallen on hard times and has a very serious medical illness that has made it impossible for her to physically & financially care for her dogs. One of her dogs has been surrendered to West Haven Animal Shelter due to his medical issues. Shadow, who is still in the home, is another of her dogs that no longer can stand without help. He also cannot control his pee/poop. This morning we got a message that he has stopped eating and drinking. Euthanasia is not something anyone should take lightly. Sadly there is nothing else to be done for this beautiful senior gentleman. It is his time. Unfortunately, his mom does not have the funds to provide him with humane euthanasia. Wendy’s Wish would like to step in & help but we need donations in order to pay his final costs, which are estimated to be approximately $450 (see attached treatment plan estimate). The hospital has said they are not equipped to take lots of payments over the phone. However, should someone want to make a larger payment, they will take one or two to place on the account for Shadow. Please let us know if you do this so we can send you a donation letter for your taxes.

We want to help Shadow’s suffering end and give him a peaceful & dignified passing. Our founder has promised Shadow’s mom she will accompany her & Shadow on his final journey. If you should have any questions, please reach out to us.

COURTESY POST: Choloe (pronounced Cho-low) needs TEMPORARY FOSTER. This temporary foster is NOT through Green Fur Kidz. It will be between his owner and a Good Samaritan that wants to step up to help. Choloe must be returned to his family once their housing is secured. Location is West Haven, CT. From Choloe’s owner:

“I don’t have an exact move date but I should be housed no later than march, I will be moving somewhere in New Haven county I’m currently looking and reaching out to landlords that accept rapid rehousing. I’m currently in a shelter with my three children and they wont allow me to have my dog. He’s 2 years old, he weighs about 25/40 pounds not sure. He gets along with other dogs. He was introduced to cats as a puppy but he hasn’t been around cats since. Yes he’s good with kids. He has bitten once when he was younger out of excitement. He did quarantine for 10 days at West Haven Animal Shelter and was allowed to come home. He’s really chill he loves rubs and to be cuddled. He doesn’t really bark a lot. He just chills for the most part. Laid back personality he can be active if someone is interacting with him. We ask that you keep them in your thoughts & keep Charlie in your prayers as they navigate this terrible diagnosis with their precious girl.

GFK Grad Marion is blossoming into a cat that loves to be pet and play with her toy mouse in her new home. What a difference time makes! She is one lucky & sweet little girl!
