🐾Padre with the pups. This is my dad, aka: “Doug The Dog Man”. He has owned his own dog training and boarding business for longer than I’ve been alive. He even owned a doggy daycare for many years.
His love for dogs and entrepreneur spirit has been passed down to me. He is the reason I got into dog training and has taught me most of my technique.

We are planning on raising Sam and Rigs and breeding them so we can sell and train their pups. I love the thought of blessing many more families with these beautiful German Shepherds. I’m excited to see where this idea takes us and I hope that you all enjoy the many more training videos that are coming.🐾

🐾New puppy!
This lil guys name is Rigs. He is getting along just fine with Sam and it’s going to be great to see them grow up together. There is a lot of training to be done with these two pups! 🐾

🐾The most important thing to be focusing on as a puppy is so young, is building good habits. You have a huge advantage when a puppy is experiencing everything for the first time. So be repetitive with the habits you want them to have and don’t even let them exercise the bad habits so that they never become something you need to fix.

For example: when Samantha is chewing on my clothes I quickly grab one of her toys and make it more interesting. This stops her from exercising the bad habits and shows her that chewing on her toys is something I am okay with.🐾

🐾Crazy hair and new adventures with Zinnie the other day on the boat!

~It’s important to give extra attention to your dog as you go on new adventures. New experiences can be stressful for some dogs but they also can be very distracting. They will respond to training sessions differently during these times but that doesn’t mean don’t try. I suggest doing quick training sessions (full of rewards) spread throughout the trip. Exercise the commands you know they are good at to keep their attention on you. This is not an ideal time to teach them something new. It is more of a useful time to practice the commands they already know.~

I hope these tips are helpful as you go on many more adventures with your dog this fall season🍂 🐾

🐾”People training” is a weird term to use... but the point being made here is that it’s a relationship. The learning experience is a two way street. As you build your relationship with your dog you learn not only different ways to train them but you also just learn more about your dog. Be just as teachable as you want your dog to be and I can promise you that you will come out on the other side equipped with more knowledge than you started with.🐾
