Here's a sample itinerary for your Glacier National Park vacation this summer!

7:00 AM – Sunrise at your lodging
- Start your day with an early rise to catch the sunrise over Lake McDonald.

7:30 AM – Breakfast in West Glacier
- Enjoy a hearty breakfast at one of the many restaurants located in or near West Glacier Village, such as Freda's.

8:30 AM – Drive the Going-to-the-Sun Road (West to East)

After breakfast, head out for one of the most iconic drives in North America: the Going-to-the-Sun Road. The entire road takes about 2 hours to drive without stops, but plan to spend more time exploring the overlooks and scenic spots along the way.

First Stop: Lake McDonald – Stop by the lake for some quick photos. It’s one of the most picturesque places in the park, with its colorful pebbles and clear water.

Second Stop: Logan Pass – Head to the Logan Pass Visitor Center, the highest point on Going-to-the-Sun Road. This is an excellent place for a short hike or to simply take in panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.

10:30 AM – Hike the Hidden Lake Trail
- From Logan Pass, take the short but rewarding Hidden Lake Trail (about 1.5 miles). The hike offers incredible views of alpine meadows and the surrounding peaks, plus the opportunity to spot wildlife like mountain goats.

12:30 PM – Lunch
- Pull off at one of the many scenic vistas and make roadside lunch with a view.

3:00 PM – Hike to St. Mary Falls
- Drive towards St. Mary and take a 1-mile hike to St. Mary Falls, one of the most popular waterfalls in the park. The trail is relatively easy, and the falls themselves are stunning.

4:30 PM – Drive to the Many Glacier Area
- After your waterfall hike, drive north to the Many Glacier area, which offers some of the park’s most breathtaking views.

6:30 PM – Return to West Glacier Village for dinner
- We recommend having dinner at the historic Belton Chalet, just a few minutes drive from West Glacier Village.

Optional Evening Activity:
- Stargazing: Glacier National Park is a designated Dark Sky Park, so it’s a perfect place to end your day with stargazing.
