Hello all! We purchased Barnwell Oaks Kennels (the business, business name, business accounts, real estate, etc.) around 12 pm on 3/12/26. We wish Leslie a happy retirement & look forward to enjoying our friendship with her for years to come.
We will be changing the name out of love. Our business is named after our beloved American Staffordshire Terrier, Sutton, who passed from cancer 7/12/25. He was an amazing “heart dog” who is deeply missed by many. I've included his baby picture from when he was pulled from the shelter by our rescue group. You'll see his sweet face on our website as well.
We consist of 6 dedicated, hard working partners, 3 married couples, & are very close friends. We have decades of experience in this field, veterinary medicine & have been running a nonprofit pet rescue organization for decades. We have grown to 3 locations with 44 employees, who are dearly loved, valued & appreciated us, as well as our customers. Most of our team members have been with us for many years. We know you’ll come to love them too.
Amber (Groomer), Madsion, October & Kiki (Kennel Techs) have continued to stay on with us. We are excited to be working with them & looking forward to getting to know everyone. We love open communication and are happy to make ourselves available to answer any questions, at any time.
We want to reassure everyone that your reservations are intact. We are transferring them by hand from Kennel Connection software to ProPet software, as we prefer it. Unfortunately, software companies can’t transfer them for us. We think you’ll come to love this software too, as it will allow you more options & flexibility.
Look for a ‘Welcome’ email from us via ProPet soon, then we’ll send you a confirmation of your reservation(s). You will also receive confirmation email requests as we get closer to your upcoming reservations. There’s a link to click on to confirm. We will post updates here.
