I get by with a little help from my friends.

Shout-out to Jason Bales for driving with me when I felt unsafe to drive. And also taking photos of me and all the pets.

Also a huge thank you to Jonie W. at Happy Walks Pet Sitting for coving my walks when I was dealing with health issues. You and your business have been a life saver.

And I'm grateful for all my clients that have trusted me to give phenomenal care even while I'm feeling delicate. Your pets feel like family and I am grateful. 🥰🥰🥰

Sometimes the winter feels neverending, sometimes the darkness swallows the light. Sometimes the bad seems to outweigh the good. And sometimes things seem hopeless. But remember to always stay strong, you always have a purpose. And there are always lovely creatures that think the world of you.

Good morning friends and followers,

I want to share with you all an opportunity to gain a pretty great friend. Let me introduce you to Lucky.

Lucky is a Cockapoo that lives with a full family of two adults, three kids, three dogs including him, a bearded dragon, and many fish. He is loved so much by his family but he is struggling with anxiety. It is most apparent when he is around kids. Although his family loves him SO much, he is in the need of a new home.

He is an incredible dog, good with other dogs, potty trained, and an all around pleasure to interact with. His only anxiety with me is if I try to touch or pet near his b***y.

He is seeking a loving home with no kids. I believe he is around 3 years old. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Attention all cat lovers!! Feral Fixers is holding an event to raise money for their organization. They literally help hundreds of kitties get spayed or neutered or find a home!! The weather may not be too bad right now but in the winter I always worry about the outdoor cats. They need love too! 💕

The holidays for a pet sitter. The perfect balance of family and dogs, cats, lizards, birds, and all things pets. So many appointments, so many pet families and so much joy. Another successful year with a few more days of holiday chaos to go. I couldn't ask for better pet families to care for. And I am grateful for the brief quality time with Jeff and family! 💕

I successfully did my first insulin shot on Roscoe, the easiest going cat I have ever met. I am extremely grateful for the owners assistance with this, I take my job and the health of all the pets extremely seriously and would never do anything if I didn't feel comfortable or confident. Bless you Roscoe for letting me learn something new and help you!!

All families come in different sizes. Our family is small but beautiful. I pride myself in taking care of all the pet families that hire me. And giving advice to any pet owner that asks. Whether your family is big or small we are a community, and we get through everything together. I have some ideas on how to offer more support to pet owners in the new year. It may take some time, and support from others, but I am excited for what 2026 might bring.

My heart is filled with so much joy this December evening, Sarah Sunshine Pet Services successfully held our first fundraiser with the help of Joanna at Sweet 'n Brew in Addison!! The Buddy Foundation is near and dear to my heart because when I was starting out on my own I volunteered for them in the early mornings and learned so much about pets, discipline, time management and working with others. At Buddy Foundation everyone is a volunteer and they give so much to the many dogs and cats. They also have a gift shop that sells items to raise money for the Foundation.

I know all of my clients have hearts of gold and are true pet lovers. I knew it might be a big ask to have them donate to the Buddy Foundation because they already give so much, to me and their pets. But I figured I would ask and I would make it a celebration of all their pets. I have so many memories with their fur and scale and feather babies. They have become an extension of my family.

We have raised over $350 and have many donated items slightly used or new. I could not be happier!! If anyone is still interested in donating I am giving $5 off one service for every $20 donated up to $100. I plan to donate the money and items this week Thursday or Friday morning.

Thank you all from the bottom of my heart for loving pets as much as I do and coming out or donating or simply choosing me as your pet sitter.

We had an extra special guest stay with Jeff and myself over Thanksgiving. I was afraid to post about it because it almost didn't happen. The beautiful and charismatic Lily ended up seeing the vet the morning before her stay. They thought she had a stroke!! 😱 I prepared myself to be heartbroken but it turns out they believe she had old dog vestibular disease which makes it difficult for her to walk, eat, move, basically has vertigo, and hold her head up properly. But this is typically TEMPORARY!! Within 72 hours there is typically improvement.

We got to watch Lily recover over the six days she was with us. We gave her meds and added cheese or chicken as needed. We spoon fed her at times, I hung out on the kitchen floor with her and had a "girls night" with her and my female turtle. We watched her barely able to stand outside to go potty to walking a full 3/4 mile loop with us around the lake. She went from eating nothing to eventually eating everything and treats. She never barked and never had an accident but she was whiny at times and we couldn't tell if she was in pain or just missed her owners. The good thing was because of the holiday Jeff and I, but especially Jeff, got to spend two full days with her. It was such a blessing. We were so lucky for our little house guest.

The pet parents told me today she is getting back to her old self. She is 13 years young. I am very smitten with the lovely Lily. 💕

I just realized I never posted photos from our first ever boarding experience around Halloween 2025. Lucy and Gizmo were the perfect pair to try out the Sarah Sunshine Hotel.
