A pet food company has issued a voluntary recall due to potentially elevated levels of vitamin D.

According to a news release from the FDA, the food could have elevated levels of vitamin D which can lead to health issues depending on the level and length of exposure.

I once paid $1600 for a trainer who had me put a prong collar on my dog on day one. I was not ok with that but went along because I was willing to give it a shot since my dogs life depended on it. Never again. You know in your heart this is not right. There ARE better ways. By the way, that trainer did nothing to help and was a huge waste of time and money.

This handsome face belongs to a very sweet boy named Spike. He came to Animal Friends over a week ago as a stray. We just couldn’t figure out how this handsome man didn’t get scooped up by owners but after a few days it was apparent that something was medically wrong with poor Spike. He couldn’t keep a good meal down (if you know what we mean 🤮). We ran some tests and finally believed that he was suffering from PRAA (kind of a form of Megaesophagus). Their esophagus isn’t formed properly or in Spike’s case, there were blood vessels constricting it.
We knew this was beyond our means and asked our good friends at Proud Pups Rescue Inc to help us with Spike. They knew a vet that specializes in these cases and got him there immediately. Now we’d really like to send some support their way as they try to save Spike’s life. His PRAA seems more complicated than a usual case and his vet bills are racking up. They were so great to help us with this burden. Can we ask all of you to help in any way?
We know Spike would truly appreciate the support!
