Royal Silks has officially handed over the reins to M.S. Equine Connections, who still resides at the Clearbrook Equine Center in Bowdoin.

This change of hands is dedicated to upholding the safe & caring learning environment that everyone has grown to expect from our team, for all students, boarders, and friends🤍

Please direct all inquiries for lessons, boarding, etc. to our M.S.E.C page, and we’ll get back to you as soon as we can! We look forward to hearing from you💙

‼️⚠️ Cancelling Saturday’s Pony Rides⚠️‼️

Unfortunately, with the recent outbreak of EHV-1 (Equine Herpesvirus) & uncertainty of how far it has spread, we are cancelling our upcoming Pony Ride event.

For those that don’t know how dire this situation is, EVH-1 is incredibly contagious (think like Covid contagious), and can be carried by people on their shoes, clothes, hands, etc. This virus is wiping out horses and spreading through barns in the Southern part of the US, (no confirmed cases in New England yet🤞), but it has an incubation period of two weeks, so we are unsure of how many horses have actually been exposed.

🐴 For the safety & love of our four legged family members, we do not feel comfortable having so many people come through our facility, so we have made the difficult decision to cancel this event.

🎄 HOWEVER, we are already gearing up for our next Horse & Pony Ride event on Saturday, January 3rd! There are a lot of things in the works for this one, so mark your calendars!

🐴 Thank you to everyone who was going to come out to see us, we hope to see everyone next time!

Just a PSA FROM Cohne at Royal Silks Equestrians as concerned responsible horse farm owners we will and are taking this outbreak very seriously and limiting as well as adding sanitation precautions in our facilities to prevent cross contamination! Because many of us share our workers, and are working at more than one place too..also some of our lessons students have their own horses at other stables, and realizing that some of these places have outside horse sales as well as outside horses coming and going for various reasons, that we are now asking them to not wear the clothes from the other farms if they have lots of incoming and outgoing horses from around the state (lessons/training), realizing your clothes can carry diseases. We are also requiring them to use our supplied topical sanitizers, and sprays upon entry. We've done alot of research with our various vets in the last couple days and reading all we can to help prevent this pandemic from reaching any of us here in Maine. We've been told by many of them one can not be too careful given this disease is said to be 6 degrees from everyone who has been near this..it is that contagious. So we urge all horse farm owners, and all Maine Horse sales facilities to be diligent. We are not as far removed as we'd like to be from any of this pandemic problem. We want to thank some of the Maine horse sales places that have gone on Facebook and stated their dates of the last stock brought into their yards and assured us of their forthcoming practices until it is safe to do business again. We as horse owners, vets, farriers, dentists and sales barns have to do the right things to keep us all safe. Prayers for those affected by EHV💔💔🐎🐴💔
