PET OF THE WEEK!
Meet some guinea pig friends!

CVHS is looking for adopters for some fabulous, young guinea pigs! They currently have 6 young guinea pigs who seek new homes to call their own. Originally from a "oopsie litters" these guinea pigs are familiar with being handled, and living with other guinea pigs. Everyone shown is under one year of age and has been properly gendered by a veterinarian. Guinea Pigs are pack animals, and are happiest living with another Guinea Pig. Contact Central Vermont Humane Society for more information!

Bath time!
Rosie is here to remind everyone how important it is to use the correct shampoo for your dog!
You should not bathe your dog with human shampoo, as there are often many harsh ingredients that can dry out their skin.
If you have any questions about suggestions for bathing your pet, give us a call and speak with one of our team members.

PET OF THE WEEK!
Meet Realm!

Realm is a very social, easy-going dog, and loves to tell you his stories in his woo-woo husky/malamute way. While with the ACO, Realm played every day with other dogs, and while here he has met other dogs and does very well, adjusting his play to what they can handle, so he would probably love to live with another dog. Based on past information, he should not live with cats.

Realm should have an owner to understand the grooming needs of his coat, and give him regular care.

A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Realm's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email mailto:[email protected], to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Realm.

Pet of the week!
Meet Flirt!

Flirt first came to us when his family's household had significant changes, and they could no longer adequately care for a young, active dog. He spent a couple months with us fine-tuning his adolescent manners, and was adopted into a wonderful home. After three weeks with that busy family, we've all agreed that Flirt is just too rambunctious to be around young kids, who he thinks are just dogs he can play with.

This people-loving, dog-loving, really smart boy won their hearts for all the reasons we love him too. He will keep you on your toes; he loves to play outside in our yards, or go on trail walks. He has fun with toys, and will laugh in your face for a good game of keep-away. He's very food motivated, and enjoys puzzle toys, as well as every training session learning new things. Sniffy walks are a favorite pastime, and he enjoys a good snuggle too.

Flirt has done well playing with other dogs here, and seems to prefer a wrestling kind of playstyle. We do not know how he feels about cats. Until Flirt slows down a bit, and learns some body awareness, kids would probably prefer not to live with him, but active adults will fall in love with their new best friend!

A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Flirt's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email [email protected], to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Flirt.

Pet of the week!
Meet Chai!

Much like Chai Tea, he is both sweet and spicy, all in a good way! This fun little guy needed ALL his teeth removed due to bad dental disease, and we can tell he's already feeling much better! We are still getting to know him, but so far he is very happy with everyone he meets, and enjoys his time in our yards and our training areas, especially if he gets to snuggle. He's an active guy, and would like a home that gives him plenty of exercise and outside time.

Because Chai was intact for so many years, he's had lots of practice marking, so he will need a patient human companion to work with him to learn about going outside. He cannot be left home alone for the day, without soiling in the house.

Chai has a past of growling, barking, and chasing cats, especially when they approached his favorite person, so Chai will probably do best as the only animal in the home.

A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Chai's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email [email protected], to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Chai.
