SOLD OUT FOR 2020 and 2021.
Our existing clients come first and our pinned post (since 2016) simply states exactly how we will move forward filling the balance of around a dozen orders still to be completed.
Those of you we are currently working with please know we will continue to move Birds this fall as planned. Everyone else will be rolled to the spring breeding season where all orders will be filled COMPLETELY.
People seem to forget that mother nature is in control. Our normal hatching keeps us around 100 to upwards of 150 Goslings a year. However, Not 2020! The season started six weeks late but ended almost on time with about a third the amount of production and for the first time, less than stellar fertility. And it wasn’t just on our farm. Breeders across the Midwest and even to the south experience the same thing we did this year with the lack of fertility, egg production and a shortened breeding season. But, this year we spent a great deal of time and effort putting together Goslings from clients who have our exact pedigrees to continue to pair birds for shipping yet this year. We’ve been extremely successful even with constant aggravation, delays due to COVID-19 and shorter hours at times with our local post offices. Federal express’s new time frames to hookup with USPS also have prohibited a lot of shipments because regardless of what time we have the birds to the post office on a given day, they don’t leave until 6 o’clock the following morning for their destination. So what was an overnight is now 2 to 3 days and we do a amazing job of preparing the birds and the cartons for an extended travel period. Repeatedly this summer we had shipments that were refused after they left the post office only for us to go and retrieve Goslings and bring them back to the farm. Clients also received notifications that due to COVID-19, shipments were delayed in reaching their destination with many cartons taking up to four days to reach their new homes. For us, this is simply unacceptable.
The same goes for international shipping of hatching eggs! Due to COVID-19, not one hatching egg was shipped this season. This really wasn’t up to us. So those orders also will be rolled to next spring and will be shipped out once egg production has commenced and Fertility checked.
After all of these orders are filled, and everybody has the birds they’ve requested, the correct color, the correct s*x and in some cases even the correct Pedigrees, we will more than likely discontinue shipping Goslings and have all birds picked up by land transportation or here at the farm.
We will still continue to offer the 30 day guarantee on every bird we sell, or have sold, but after the 30 days, the onus does rely on the new owner to produce quality feed, adequate shelter, housing and rearing. Once the birds are out of our care and we have lapsed past that 30 day timeframe, we are no longer responsible. We are the only breeder in the country that even offers the 30 day timeframe guaranteed. So what more could technically be expected.
So PLEASE NOTE....... ALL customers are indeed responsible for the outcome of their birds. We have tried and true pedigrees here with no abnormalities, genetic defects or deformities. We cannot be in control of birds on other peoples property and in their care.
So even though many of you have purchased Goslings that should’ve been shipped between 10 and 14 days old, we are still moving birds that are now nearly full grown at the same cost.
So even though many of you have purchased Goslings that should’ve been shipped between 10 and 14 days old, we are still moving birds that are now nearly full grown at the same BIRD cost.......However, shipping charges increased.
We will continue to update each client individually when contacted as to the timeframe for shipping, delivery travel (If available) or pick up.
Again, these are not items we stock on a shelf but Goslings we work very hard to produce each year.
Feel free to call, inbox message or send questions through email. We will respond to each and everyone. We have a list of every client and their order and you can be assured through the next season you will be fully updated and your order completed.
The same goes for our Red Breasted geese as two clients are still in need of goslings. We hatched none in 2020 with three pair in the program.
So this is our plan moving forward, and we will continue to update as transportation or shipping is available in the coming weeks. Everybody else, be prepared for spring Goslings to round off our responsibilities in filling The balance of the last several orders.
Here’s to an amazing 2021!..........
