We hope this finds the person who needs it most.

Maybe today was another twelve-hour shift.
Maybe you spent the afternoon trapping kittens in the heat.
Maybe you stayed late because one more emergency came through the door.
Maybe you drove home wondering if you did enough.

If any of that feels familiar...
we want you to know you're not alone.

Over the years, we've noticed something that deserves more attention.

The people behind animal care give everything they have—to the animals, their teams, and the communities they serve.

Yet too often, they're carrying exhaustion, compassion fatigue, long hours, emotional loss, financial strain, and the weight of always being the one who keeps going.

And eventually, many leave.

Veterinary professionals.
Rescue volunteers.
Shelter teams.
Wildlife rehabilitators.
Leaders and managers.

Not because they stopped caring.

Because they carried too much for too long.

Every person who leaves takes years of knowledge, compassion, and experience with them.

And that affects animal care, too.

That's why we created Behind Animal Care.

Not to replace the incredible work already being done, but to support the people doing it.

We're building BAC Village to become a place for recognition, practical resources, encouragement, wellness, community, and meaningful appreciation—all designed to help the people behind animal care feel seen, supported, and connected.

It's still in development.
Every conversation.
Every suggestion.
Every story you've shared.
Has helped shape what it will become.

And we're building this for you.

Meet Stanley (M) and Zara (F)! Both of their siblings have been adopted and now it is their time to find their forever home.

Zara is a sweet tuxedo female who loves chin scratches and churros

Stanley is a medium hair, black and white boy who loves belly rubs

We would love nothing more than to see these two go together to a lovable home. They are both spayed/neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, appropriate for their age, microchips, dewormed, and tested negative for feline aids, and leukemia.
